During our recent trip to Bermuda, we had the pleasure of dining at Bone Fish Bar & Grill, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. Located in the heart of the Royal Naval Dockyard, this restaurant quickly became a highlight of our vacation.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The owner, whose kindness and attentiveness were truly remarkable, personally greeted us and ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. It’s rare to find such a hands-on and caring owner, and it made a world of difference.
The menu at Bone Fish Bar & Grill is diverse and mouth-watering. We started with the fresh seafood platter, which was an absolute delight – every bite was fresh and flavorful. For our main course, we tried the grilled fish of the day and the jerk chicken, both of which were cooked to perfection and bursting with taste. The portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful.
The drinks were also fantastic. We enjoyed expertly crafted cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal. The bartenders clearly take pride in their work, and it shows in the quality and creativity of the drinks they serve.
The ambiance at Bone Fish Bar & Grill is wonderful, with a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that invites you to relax and enjoy your time. The outdoor seating offers stunning views of the harbor, making it a perfect spot to dine and unwind.
Service throughout the evening was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, always ready with a smile and a recommendation. The owner’s presence and personal touch truly elevated the experience, making us feel like valued guests.
In summary, Bone Fish Bar & Grill is a gem in Bermuda. The combination of excellent food, superb drinks, and outstanding service – especially the exceptional hospitality from the owner – makes this a must-visit restaurant. We left with full stomachs and happy hearts, already looking forward to our next visit. If you find yourself in Bermuda, do not miss the chance to dine at Bone Fish Bar & Grill – you won’t be...
Read moreWent over with my 20 year old as he was excited to drink legally ( Bermuda drinking age is 18 as opposed to 21 in the US) . So we sat at the bar and had a few. I've worked at bars and restaurants so a few red flags popped up as we drank. Service...not exceptional. Two of the bartenders were more focused on socializing than taking order so a drink order would take about 10 minutes when they got around to it. The smell leads me to believe, the bar area is unsanitary ( We didn't have food so this is strictly pointed at the bar area, not anything to do with food). One of the cardinal rules we had in the bar business was never to put a glass in the ice bin as it could break, then you had to replace all the ice. They were placing the cocktail glasses straight into the ice bin and sure enough, one broke. The Bartender scooped out the main part and one other piece and went about his business. That was the last of our drinks with ice. My son had about his limit and requested more from the Bartender to which I said no, he had had enough and the Bartender had the balls to them ask "what's your age, do you have your own credit card?" which my clearly drunk son responded 20 and yes, to which the Bartender poured a shot for him. So that was it for us. The Bartender then did some other unsavory acts that I won't go into detail, but needless to say, the guy from Bar Rescue would probably end up firing him if they did the show there. So the food is probably fine and the female bartender did a good job, but they may want to relook at some of the others if they want to avoid lawsuits or getting...
Read moreWhile stretching out our last hours in Bermuda, before getting back on the cruise ship, we decided to have lunch at Bone Fish. At the time there was a performer singing and playing guitar that wasn't necessarily a draw for us, but it didn't deter us either as the music was enjoyable.
The restaurant had substantial outdoor areas but despite being a humid day, there were ample fans to keep the table areas comfortable.
The food was better than expected for a restaurant so close to the pier. I only say that as most restaurants that cater to tourists can feel mediocre, but not here. The food came out pretty quickly and it was great. I was able to have the traditional "Original Bermuda Fish Sandwich" (on Raisin Bread) and it was great. What was even more surprising was the children's menu. They had the option of Wahoo Bites. We expected this would have been closer to fishstick consistency, but were pleasantly surprised to find it was big chunks of fresh wahoo seasoned, breaded, and fried. Really top tier food for a kids menu.
My only knock would be that soft drinks didn't have free refills. My wife had a Frozen Dark N Stormy which she loved, I had a soda that I got on refill and walked out spending $8 -- with charges like that, it felt like I was back on the ship already! Not enough of an issue to me to give this place less than 5 stars.
If you're in Dockyard and need a bite, I imagine this place can get pretty wild at night, but lunch was great for couples and...
