Flor do Céu Restaurante — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

This is more about an experience than the food. The restaurant is in the favela above the Sheraton hotel. You can get there by Uber although there's a short 5 minute walk after getting dropped off. The locals will direct you, unprompted, where to go and there are a few signs as well. It turns out to be very easy to get there. Once there, your greeted with a beautiful view of the ocean, the Sheraton hotel and parts of the favela. It's pretty cool!

The food itself, while fresh, was decent but not particularly different from a restaurant. The menu is Italian based with some local ingredients. Again, you're really not there for the food!

To get home, you can have one of the locals walk with you (for safety?) or walk down the stairs which we chose to do. You're reminded not to take photos in the favela (it's disrespectful!) but seemed safe enough. The stairs end near the Sheraton so you can walk to town or catch a cab/Uber from there.

Walking up from the Sheraton is straightforward. Cross the avenue and go up the stairs. When you enter the neighborhood you may see a lookout with a firearm, but that was the only thing that stood out. Felt safe either way, locals helped us arrive to where we were going. Follow the stairs until the second fork, which you’ll stay left. There should be a sign that guides you on a wooden post.

As far as the food is concerned it is as others mentioned an experience. Grab a table with a view and enjoy the presence of your friends and family. The gastronomy is a three course seafood and vegetarian heaven. We began with an additional fish carpaccio that was delicious. Then moved to a shrimp dish followed by the most amazing handmade lime butter pistachio noodles. Dessert was a frozen chocolate dessert that was scrumptious.

Great experience overall. You really get to enjoy the surroundings...

Não é um lugar pra todo mundo, mas acredito que seja de bom grado, mesmo ate para quem não faz parte da playboyzada que entende nada ou de quem vive de clicks por aí.

Eu fui lá no dia 21/09/2024.

O lugar fica na Favela Chácara do Céu, há algumas formas de chegar, e eu acabei optando, sem querer, por chegar pela Quadra de Futebol - mas há outros vários caminhos, o mais recomendado eh ir de Uber direto pela UPP (por na localização)

Após boas escadarias subindo pela Quadra de Futebol e indo pelos becos, após alguns "bom dia" pelo caminho, foi fácil de chegar no restaurante que tem uma entrada um pouco aquém, mas o seu interior já contrasta bastante o ambiente em volta.

Em um ambiente pequeno, e com muita simpatia, fui bem recepcionado a entrée e fui deixado bem à vontade.

Eu escolhi a opção de 3 pratos, mas logo eles foram simpáticos e disseram que era possível eu consumir a opção de 5 pratos, sem titubear, naquele dia.

O primeiro prato foi uma salada, até boa, o que demonstra que os produtos são de qualidade.

O segundo foi um purê com lulas, onde as lulas estavam magníficas, feitas na hora e não estavam borrachudas, porém, o complemento eu achei "frio" o que não combinou no momento com o prato, na minha opinião.

O terceiro foi um macarrão com folhas de brócolis, cogumelos e creme de provolone. Infelizmente não foi possível sentir o gosto do cogumelo e o creme, sobrando apenas o gosto da "vagem" do brócolis, o que roubou muito o sabor e eu não gostei pois trouxe um paladar limitado e sem graça. Uma pena.

O quarto prato foi um peixe em uma cocção muito boa, e uma saladinha com quinoa, que estava boa e um purezinho de couve-flor que estava OK.

O quinto prato, por último, era uma sobremesa de chocolate branco com maracujá que estava boa, mas nada sobressalente.

Na totalidade, pelas opções e quantidade de pratos, achei que está um preço aceitável pelos produtos e suas qualidades, mas pela variedade no prato, em si, as escolhas do produto também, honestamente, não me surpreendeu.

A comida, em si, não eh algo fantástico, e achei que poderia surpreender melhor pela proposta, mas não eh de todo ruim, eu classificaria a comida, somente a comida, um 3.3/5

Mas aí tem outros fatores como atendimento, serviço, a opção de vinho que tomei e etc, que acaba elevando a nota para uns 4.5/5 ao restaurante.

Espero voltar lá um dia, com um melhor cardápio ou, talvez, o mesmo mas...
