This place has been garnering rave reviews, and with a Mediterranean menu, that means a good selection of seafood, right? The restaurant itself isn't massive, but it's got a rather pleasant interior with high ceilings and plenty of light.
Food: We went for a starter and two main courses. Unfortunately, we had to change our minds as the oysters and octopus were off the menu, which was a bit of a shame. We settled on the free-range chicken coxinha as a starter. It was a bit of a mixed bag, to be honest. The chicken filling was excellent, but the mashed potato inside was a bit of a let-down - a bit too dense and heavy for my liking. For our mains, we had the lobster with rice, which was absolutely divine. The lobster was cooked to perfection, creamy, succulent, and the buttery flavour complemented the lobster beautifully. The rice was also a joy to eat, a generous portion, and a perfect accompaniment. The chorizo steak was a tad less impressive. The texture of the meat was a bit odd, almost like tuna, though it was well-chewed and had a good meaty flavour. Something about it just wasn't quite right, and I was rather kicking myself that the octopus wasn't available that day.
Service:
The service was top-notch. Our waiter was a cheerful and attentive chap, who even managed a few words in Russian, which was a nice touch. He looked after us well, and we felt very well looked after. The food came out quickly, and everything was lovely.
In conclusion:
Overall, this is a great spot for a gathering with friends or a family meal. Excellent service, lovely food with a couple of minor exceptions. I'd definitely recommend it and I'm sure we'll be back. A decent...

We walked past Ruda and decided to pop in for dinner... And WOW WOW WOW, what an amazing dining experience!
They are still very new, only been open week or so, but it feels like a well oiled-machine. Exceptional service! Thank you to Hail (who could speak good English) and our main waiter, Lucas.
Food was excellent! Oysters were delicious, the Tomtoe in three (?) ways... wow!! Crunchy, paste... Whole... so delicious!
Main course of fish with yam was divine, and chicken was really good too! We feel the sauce could be on the side instead of l over the chicken as it is strong, but this is a minor feedback as it was simply, and utterly, delicious!!
For dessert we had the Cashew icecream, panacotta which was so good!
Overall, if you are look for excellent food with exceptional service in a relaxed atmosphere, this is place! Get out of Copacabana and take an Uber to Ipanema and enjoy a delicious, quality dinner.
Wishing this restaurant all the best, we will be back when...
Read moreRudä is a culinary gem that I've had the pleasure of experiencing twice - once for dinner and once for lunch. On both occasions, I was thoroughly impressed by the delectable cuisine and exceptional service.
I loved the octopus with jambú, as well as the filet mignon. The quality of the ingredients and the cooking was outstanding. Some variance in what you get when you order steak “a ponto”, so would consider giving more detail.
The service was outstanding, especially on our first visit. Our servers were able to help us in both English and Portuguese, and I particularly remember ordering a caipirinha at dinner - my companions convinced me to not get the cashew caipirinha, but our server convinced me to get it when taking my order, and it was absolutely fantastic. I ordered it again at lunch.
Good food and attentive, warm, opinionated service makes for a delightful meal. I’m so glad that I came to Rüda and...
