The best Mexican restaurant I've ever been in São Paulo! I confess that when I arrived to the Vila Olímpia unit , I did not like the entrance. I booked in advance a table for 10 people upstairs and soon as we entered I saw that I was wrong to judge it by it's entrance. The place has a very rich decoration and attention to detail. As soon as we sat at the table, we were served homemade nachos served which guaca mole and delicious chilli sauce. We were already having a good time when, believe or not, a group of Mariachis arrive to sing for us. The guys really rocked it! Amazing sound with fantastic voices and very diversified repertory. We got the "all you can eat" option (rodízio) and we ate a delicious fresh made food. For drinking I got a good classical Michelada (lemon with salt and Corona beer). All the food was perfect and we had an amazing authentic Mexican experience in São Paulo for a fair price. My favorite foods were the nachos and the traditional Mocajete. The "rodízio" option was R$61,90, but you can get it cheaper, in sites like "peixe Urbano", for R$45,90. The michelada was R$14 and the Mariachis cover was R$10. They charge the extra 10% in the final bill, but it is worth it. For less than R$100 (€23 or US$ 25), I got the best Mexican food and...
Read moreI love mexican food and have visited Mexicaníssimo many times.
The place is chaming, cozy and homy, and has a fun aura. It is not big and its layout is odd, but that doesn't diminish the experience... the restaurant is just weirdly shaped but that's fine.
Mexicaníssimo is usually full, but I've never found any difficulty getting a table. If you're planning to visit it with a group of people, you should call and reserve a table, though. Service is fast enough and the staff is kind.
Food is delicious! I wish it was a bit spicier (I usually bring my own sauce) but overall it all tastes great. The menu is widely varied. My favourites by far are the tacos al pastor and the molcajete. Or you can get the all you can eat menu and try them all – in fact this is the best idea.
At Mexicaníssimo there's usually a mariachi band playing. Some may find it loud and annoying. I find it quite amusing. Cudos to the vocal power...
Read moreThis place is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a good Mexican food in Vila Olimpia area. This place is tucked in a corner away from the busy streets but provides a relaxing, cozy and peppy atmosphere for having a good meal.
I saw the reviews of this place before I visited and noticed a lot of people compliment Andre’s service. Luckily we were serviced by Andre who patiently explained the menu to us and translated the descriptions to English. Guacamole and chips are really good. We had Frango / chicken Fajitas which had the right spice and flavor. Frango Burrito and Veggie Burrito are good. Lime Sucos are delicious. Finally we had the churro’s with Nutella which was extraordinary and which I would highly...
