Restaurante Margarida Café Paraty — Restaurant in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

Good food. A little expensive, but good. The place is nice, in the old Town, and my waiter was great.

My problem with the place is this:

When I came in I asked if I could watch the Warriors basketball game. It was on a little later and they said yes. After all, it was pretty empty and it was a marquee game (Lakers vs Warriors, LeBron vs Steph, the biggest global brands in basketball).

So I ordered 2 courses of food and multiple premium beers and water. The staff was nice. The only 2 other people there were nice. I'm thinking, I like it here. I'll be back tomorrow with my friends.

And my game started. I'm happy. I'm going have dessert. I see wine I like. I'm going get a bottle next.

And then I was told they were switching to Brazilian football. So, what do I do now? Now my game has started and I can't watch it. I've spent some good money here because they let me watch the game, or so I thought. I've got another fresh 600ml beer and a bottle of water I ordered. It's too late to find another place, anyway. Once any game is on places don't like to change it, understandably (except here where they are taking mine off after it started), and football is on everywhere else. I tried but failed. It's not like this place was packed with people demanding football. There are, what, 2 or 3 other tables? Everyone in there knew basketball was on when they came in. I only saw 2 waiters watching after the switch to football.

So, as a result I did not see the game as promised. I went back to my hotel, in the rain, to watch it there, but I did not make it in time. It was a great game, apparently. I would loved to have seen it.

You may not care, but it's not cool. It's not done, not anywhere. It's very bad service and a sign of what they think of the customer. I'm not happy now.

If you are going for the food, again, it was expensive but good, especially the starter. And my waiter really was great.

But I won't go back tomorrow and I'm not going to...

Reserva feita para a ceita da noite de Natal as 22:30 há alguns meses, eu estava com a expectativa altíssima já que eu e meu marido ouvimos falar muito bem deste restaurante, mas.......

1. chegamos pontualmente as 22:30, bem na porta de entrada tinha muita gente, algumas sentadas nos sofás e outras fazendo uma fila (nesta hora a recepcionista nao estava), resolvi entrar e sentar para esperar, quando vi a recepcionista ela estava atendendo as pessoas da fila e levando ate os seus lugares, fui ate ela tirar uma duvida se eu deveria aguardar nos sofás ou se eu poderia já ir para minha mesa, ela foi de uma grosseria sem tamanho totalmente desnecessária, dizendo que depois me chamava quando voltasse, ok, voltei para os sofás. Neste meio tempo foi chegando mais pessoas e entrando na fila e ela foi atendendo as pessoas e nao me chamou, falei para o meu marido e ele foi ate ela, novamente ela foi grosseira pedindo para que fossemos para o final da fila para ser atendidos, OI? estávamos o tempo todo esperando (as pessoas chegando depois de nos passando na frente), meu marido nao aceito e pediu para que ela nos levasse ate o nossa mesa, contrariada, ela o fez.. infelizmente logo no inicio passamos por isto, péssimo atendimento, já que a experiência se inicia na recepção!
2. fomos levados ate a nossa mesa no jardim, minúscula, bem no canto e perto da passagem entre o salão e o jardim, os ventiladores nao chegava ate nos (e estava muuuuuito calor). Vimos que tinha em casal de senhores sentados atrás de nos em uma mesa de 4 lugares, somente eles e mais ninguem, e ainda tinha mais 2 mesas de 4 lugares VAZIAS e com a ventilação boa, o tempo todo que permaneci no local NINGUEM sentou nessas mesas, por qual motivo fomos levados para aquela mesa? eu nao sei, diga-me vcs!
3. o garçom me deu 2 cardápios, logo de cara nao entendi, pois fomos para uma ceia e nao para pedidos "á la carte", tive que chamar outro garçom que gentilmente me explicou, pois o outro garçom somente entregou os cardápios e saiu. Pedimos as bebidas, e pasmem, olhei no relógio e ja fazia mais de 30 minutos e nada, chamei novamente o garçom e informei o ocorrido (ja que eu tinha a visão do bar, vi os sucos e refrigerantes lá parados, esquentando e NINGUEM para nos trazer), se eu nao tivesse falado nada, estaria ainda esperando as bebidas!
4. estou dando 3 estrelas unica e exclusivamente pela comida, essa sim, muito saborosa e era o mínimo que eu esperava pelo valor altissimo que pagamos e por todos esses momentos desagradaveis que tivemos em plena...

The food as well as the service were good overall. They charged 22 reais for the live music and 3 reais for the “optional tourist tax”. The real problem started at the end of the dinner when my girlfriend went to the bathroom and another woman (not sure whether she was another customer or a someone’s friend) puked all over my girlfriend as well as her jacket and purse, given that the other bathrooms were occupied. I first present the issue to the waiters and, once they get to the bathroom, they comfort the girl who puked and do not offer a solution for us (maybe cause we are gringos, who knows).
