We arrived yesterday in Plodviv and this was the 1st bar we found. The place is modern and trendy, and it is the only one located on the dancing fountain border, so it has a fantastic view..... Unfortunately service for tourists who do not speak bulgarian is the WORST EVER!!! They scaped from you, maybe they think that tourists bite???? We were yesterday for the first time in order to get something to drink, as the weather was very hot. We asked for 2 vanilla milk shakes. The waitress brought them, and we asked her if she could give some information on where to buy the tickets for the bus to go to our hotel. She answered "I don't know" several times and scaped. We finished our drinks and waited for the bill for 30 minutes.... As the waitress dissapaired, I went by myself inside and asked if any of them speak english. Our waitress was no longer there. Another waitress was so kind to answer our question with some manual signs and a bit of English. Today was our last day at Plovdiv. So before returning to the bus station to return to Sophia, we decided to return to this bar restaurant for lunch because we loved the fountain view. Today is Saturday so there were more people than yesterday. We informed the receptionist we were 2 people, and they offered a table with only 2 chairs.... but we had our bags and coats with us... . Again, nobody there that undestood English. We requested for another chair or a sofa where we could pose our coats and bags. They pointed with their finger the floor. I asked again for another chair (or to seat inside, where it was empty and full of available places to seat), but this time, it was a snobbish not-ready-for-tourists lady (by the way she acted, she seems to be responsable for the other younger waitresses) in a pink flowered dress who shake shoulders like saying "I do no care", and scaped. I went inside again and try to find someone else who would be able to service, but without change. Luckly we found another fantastic restaurant in the middle of the park: "central park", where we were warmly welcomed, accomodated in a sofa where we were really confortable and did not need to leave bag and coat on the floor, we enjoyed a wonderful and delicious healthy lunch in a lovely ambience. And the waitress was friendly, helpful and quick. Why so much difference from one place to the other (less than 100 mts away)? Morado bar, does not represent bulgarian style, all people we met in Plodviv or Sophia were incredibly helpful with us, even not speaking english they did whatever to reach to understand each other, helpful, respectful, we have only the best words to describe bulgarians......except in Morado. I suggest the owner of the bar to consider that when hiring the employees, or ask the owner of Central Park how to do it. The only thing I could recommend in Morado is the fantastic mirror in the ladies bathroom to...

My last review 4 years ago was 5 stars and this was one of the best places to be in Plovdiv, but I was shocked to return and see what a mess has this place become.
Upon sitting at the bar (great view of the fontains) I noticed the horrible state the bar was. Chipped, dirty and unpleasant (picture attached). The waitress was polite and quick to serve and was the best thing from the whole experience. But that's about it.
The chairs were falling appart (picture attached), the glasses we were served were not clean properly (streaks after dishwash use making them look dirty). There was no music coming from the bar (around 2pm) and a bit later the music was played on, but you could barely hear it. Gone were the young and vibrant customers, replaced by mostly people of old age and tourists like me who had no idea how bad this place had become. The surrounding was as gross as the bar and the chairs - dirty and old furniture, unpleasant (picture attached).
I ordered a vegetarian burger and you could see from the picture that the presentation was dreadful (some 5 year old would have presented the food better). The burger tasted somewhat ok, however there were no seasoning and the fries were horrible! My family was served with chicken burger which again was not seasoned at all and was so simple, I could literally go to the shop and make it in few minutes time.
But don't get me started with the dessert, you could see it from the picture, the bottom from the Lind cake was missing!
This is the ideal center of the second biggest city in Bulgaria, the bar is placed in the best possible place next to the beautiful singing fountains but apart from service everything else was beyond a joke!
I don't think it's necessary to say it, but will do nonetheless - there is no chance I will visit this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy visit to Morado Bar & Dinner in Plovdiv was a truly delightful experience. I started my meal with the Bulgarian clear chicken soup, which left a lasting impression. The portion was substantial, served hot, and exquisitely seasoned. It was a comforting and flavorsome choice, making for a light yet satisfying dinner.
For my main course, I opted for the mixed bruschetta, a trio featuring mozzarella, prosciutto, and salmon. Each bruschetta had its unique and delightful twist, offering a diverse range of flavors. The mozzarella was creamy, the prosciutto added a savory punch, and the salmon provided a refreshing seafood twist. It left me thoroughly content.
The ambience at Morado Bar & Dinner was enchanting, with a breathtaking view of the Singing Fountains Lake, which is the highlight of Tsar Simeon's Garden. The lounge bar's setting was truly wonderful, providing a picturesque backdrop for an exceptional dining experience.
Morado Bar & Dinner not only impressed with its delectable food but also offered a scenic and serene musical atmosphere. It's a perfect choice for anyone looking to combine great cuisine with a stunning...
