Savi Gelato & Specialty Coffee — Restaurant in Plovdiv

We visited the place in Plovdiv on a hot Saturday afternoon and it was empty which was the first red flag. They are advertised as offering gluten free options. We explicitly explained several times that I have celiac disease and every little piece of gluten will make me very sick for days. The girl behind the counter assured us several times that all the presented flavors are gluten free and we trusted her. We had the french cream, strawberry, cappuccino and lavender tastes. We weren't particularly impressed by any of them and the french cream was straight up blunt.

Long story short, I got severely glutened at this place. I don't recommend it at all for celiac people as they can't be trusted on their claims. And I don't recommend it for the ice cream quality either, it's overpriced and the taste and texture are...

It's really the best gelato in Bulgaria in my opinion. I've had gelato all over Italy, France, Asia, and USA so I think I might have an idea what proper gelato should taste like. :)

Anyhow, the gelato is very dense and creamy where you can really taste the ingredient very well. The pistachio has a strong pure pistachio flavor and the French milk chocolate has a very milky chocolatey taste.

The ones are made in house and are super thin and crispy. Very nice!

Overall, it costs a bit more than other places since the quality is much much higher. But if you want quality gelato you have to pay for it.. if you want crappier gelato, then go elsewhere and pay less -...

Their ice cream is SO overrated. I went there after hearing so many people obsess about this place and I was so disappointed with both the flavors and texture of the ice cream. Out of the few flavors they have, keto hazelnut is pretty much icy water with blunt hazelnut flavoring, sheep-milk yogurt tasted nothing like yogurt and had just a general sweet flavor, and I don't even remember the third flavor I got, very unimpressed.
