We came to this restaurant at my wife's recommendation with a reservation. We were seated near the kictchen/bar. The layout of the restaurant means that this was a seat right next to the cupboard where the servers often went to get things from. This wasn't idea and the restaurant would do well to find an alternative layout. The waitress we had was wonderful. She helped us with the menu, selecting dishes and answering all our questions. 5 stars on that! We took a starter that included toasted bread and a cheese spread served as little balls (I don't remember the name). The bread was toasted to perfection with butter that made the experience enjoyable. The cheese spread was too salty for our pallet, the bread did offset that but we simply didn't have enough bread. I'm not sure that we should have more bread for this starter, so personally I would prefer a less salty cheese spread. As for the main course, I took the marinated pork and my wife took the risotto. The risotto was good and the pork was simply divine! Simply put, the mix of the vinegar sauce, the caramelized Onions, tender pork, chevre and herbs was a symphony that payed in absolute harmony in my mouth. I have a tendency to gobble my food like a brute, but this experience had me extracting every second of pleasure from this masterpiece. For dessert, I took the tiramisu that was served, rather originally, in a moka pot. It was not the best tiramisu I've had but it was definitely in the top 5. My wife took a chocolate desert that was encased inside a shell made to look like a cherry with pistachio ice cream and chocolate powder and cherry sauce on the side. This was truly a visual masterpiece. The bites brought her to levels of pleasure that I fear aren't appropriate to be accurately described in a public forum. Overall, this experience was a tease and left us feeling that it could have been so much more. They say that the smallest of stains are even more visible on a masterpiece than on something mundane. This summarises our experience that felt incomplete and frustrating. Amazing main course and desert. The starter missed it's mark but it is forgivable, the poor seating however simply stands out as the fly in the proverbial soup. Overall 4/5, food 4.5/5, atmosphere a 3/5, Service an...
Read moreWe had such a fantastic time! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was lovely. The Baked Salmon and Viennese Schnitzel were both excellent, as was the Chocolate Soufflé. Oh, and the Pistachio Cake with Spinach and Strawberries was mind-blowing! A big shoutout to Chef Manchev and his fantastic team! We can’t wait to come back for more delicious dishes soon!
However, I need to update my review to our recent experience. I'm taking two stars off for service and one off for the overall experience because our last visit was a bit confusing. The waiter seemed inadequately trained and almost ruined our lunch. For example, he served the main dish alongside the soup for one of our guests, and we had to ask him to take it back to the kitchen to keep it warm, as he had carelessly placed it on a nearby table. He returned it to the kitchen and soon came back with the same dish, rushing the guest to finish her soup. He awkwardly left the main dish on the table by moving our plates while she was still enjoying her soup. He wasn't as attentive and well behaved as his colleagues. I wish we had a different waiter yesterday, as the rest of the team did...
