Lavelé Garden — Restaurant in Sofia City

We arrived and immediately redirected to the street covered area. They put us against a column in the smallest table possible though we told the waiter there were bigger tables empty. He said he would give us a bigger table as soon as one was free. Never happened. Although we told him that we were going to have dinner since many of the bigger tables had 2 people having just sodas or water (and FYI, all were smoking heavily). He brought me the wrong drink, forgot about the bread, and in the end, he reminded us that "service" was not included. Cheeky, uh! As Americans, we always tipped 20% and above. Yet my husband couldn't help but give him 10% (I would have given him 0) My seafood "platter" was a regular plate with mostly calamari and a huge piece of bread in the middle to make it look abundant (it wasn't). Furthermore, my seafood platter had 3 prawn heads, not the prawns, just the heads (see pic below). There are thousands of restaurants, one next to each other. Just...

Regardless of being in love with this place, me and my wife are sad about the decreasing quality of “Balkan Breakfast” menu option. This menu is the exact traditional meal from my childhood which my Bulgarian mother was used to prepare for me on morning times when I was a kid (I grew up in another country). We first had it back in October 2024 and instantly fell in love with the cocktails and all of the options. Then we revisited on March 2025 and the “Balkan Breakfast” got smaller pieces of суджук and it was over-cooked, the sauces (лютеница) were not the same.

I know the times are hard and you don’t want to increase the prices but please keep the good quality, I am willing to pay what it takes.

I hope they bring back the old cook and old recipes. This beautiful place deserves the best and we love to try our chances and want to re-live our love at full again! One of the best places in Vitosha Boulevard if not...

Lovely ambiance at this indoor/outdoor cafe, and the menu looks good. However the staff attitude and major order delay were problematic.

I went for lunch with a friend and after her food was delivered, more than 30 minutes after we ordered, I asked when my order would arrive. The rather snobbish staff said “brunch orders are delayed” (as I watched food being served to several tables who arrived much later than we did). It was a full 45 minutes before my order arrived: a simple croissant sandwich that could easily have been prepared in one minute.

If the staff had simply apologized for forgetting to place the order, which was obviously what happened, and offered a coffee while I waited, it would have been no big deal. But she rudely responded with a lie and then avoided us the rest of the time. This was very poor customer service, not to mention the food wasn’t exactly...
