I recently visited a Chef Viet a Vietnamese restaurant here in Sofia Bulgaria, that offers takeout only, but the staff was incredibly kind and allowed me to dine inside, which I greatly appreciated.
The pho was good, and the service was excellent. As a foodie, I must point out that the noodles weren't as silky smooth as I typically prefer; instead, they had a more moisture-heavy texture. This could be due to preparation timing or technique, but it's something they might want to revisit for a smoother finish.
The broth leaned toward a saltier, beefier flavor, which I later learned is characteristic of northern-style pho â a new discovery for me! Interestingly, the pho was served with mint leaves instead of basil. While I personally prefer basil, this unique twist was still enjoyable and offered something different.
I did find that the noodles absorbed most of the broth, which left me expecting a bit more liquid in the bowl. Perhaps adjusting the broth-to-noodle ratio could improve this. There was no hoisin sauce or Sriracha available, but they did offer other condiments like fish sauce and chili sauce, which complemented the meal well.
As for the salad rolls, they were decent, but it was clear they had been pre-made rather than freshly prepared. This resulted in the rice wrap being a bit firm, which took away from the overall texture. The filling â which included chicken instead of just shrimp as I had ordered â had a somewhat bland and older taste. However, the fish sauce dip helped improve the flavor. Preparing the rolls fresh or closer to serving time could make a big difference here.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I'd recommend this spot to anyone in Bulgaria craving a comforting bowl of pho. With a few small adjustments, this place has the potential to be...

Today was all about comfort food and a little culinary teleportation. We picked up BĂĄnh Bao, Pork Bento Box, and BĂșn CháșŁ, and let me tell youâpure magic in every bite!
The BĂĄnh Bao? Oh. My. WOW. Soft, pillowy, and just the right kind of fluffy, like a little edible cloud hugging the most delicious filling. The taste instantly brought back memories of dim sum feasts in Hong Kong. Honestly, if you told me these came straight from a legendary dim sum house, Iâd believe you.
The Pork Bento Box was the definition of comfort. Tender, fall-apart braised pork? Check. Perfectly cooked rice soaking up all those rich flavors? Double check. And that grilled skewerâjuicy, smoky, and so well-marinated, I could eat a dozen of them.
BĂșn CháșŁâbecause sometimes all you need is smoky, grilled pork, fresh herbs, delicate rice noodles, and that zingy dipping sauce to make life feel lighter. It was fresh, balanced, and packed with that beautiful, classic Vietnamese flavor.
And letâs talk about the place itself. A true hidden gem run by the sweetest family. The food speaks for itselfâno frills, no fancy setups, just authentic, soul-warming deliciousness. They do takeaway-only, but honestly, that just means I get to bring a little piece of Vietnam home with me.
Final verdict? If you love food thatâs made with heart, donât walkâRUN...
