Amazing fresh quality bakery. One of the most amazing bakeries in Sofia. Everything is handmade with love and care, every attention to detail. There is an abundance of different flavours to the handcrafted Banitsas. From apple and cinnamon through to mushroom and potato with cheese.
The coffees are made to absolute perfection. A high quality speciality coffee beans blend, expensive machinery and a precise grinder all operated by skilful Barista's, result in a perfect coffee which looks and tastes sublime. I opted for a Flat White, super ric, dark, fragrant and beautifully decorated with latte art.
A mark of a quality bakery is it's sourdough and this is no exception. Each morning loaves are freshly baked and form a tempting artistic display. They also distribute to the finer restaurants in the area, an accolade to their success.
The prices of more than reasonable for a quality you are receiving. There are lower prices around but this still remains amazing value.
The staff are also friendly and inviting they really make you feel welcome. They'll explain all the different options and are more than willing to make changes to accommodate your tastes. The manager Georgi even helped me to hail a taxi and ensured all his customers come back...
Read moreThe most disgusting banista I’ve ever had. My partner went at 8:30am (half an hour after the opening time) to get some fresh banista for us. I was hyped because apparently it’s rated as the best banista place in Sofia! I was thoroughly disappointed because the banista was cold and chewy. It had a pungent smell of egg and was way too salty ( the feta cheese in Bulgaria is salty, but this was tasting like the Dead Sea). The mekitsa was cold and chewy. This place is just a hype, and doesn’t qualify to be selling banista. Either the banistas were old, which is weird because bakery’s sell freshly made goods in the morning, or their banistas were just disgusting. Later that morning I stopped by a random bakery in a metro station, and it tasted like a banista. For reference, the first picture is the banista from furna, and the second one is from a random bakery in a...
Read moreThis place saved me as a vegan for breakfast in Bulgaria. They have a few options and really good coffee with all types of plant milk! Huge winner. The food was all also delicious for me and everyone with me. (The croissants are great)
They lose a star because of two reasons: one because I do agree that they could definitely heat up the food if requested (in a toaster oven) And two, one time we went we had to sit inside because it was raining and the man serving us kept going outside whenever he wasn’t attending anyone and smoking right next to the open door and I could smell the cigarettes inside.
I don’t live in Europe and where I live now literally no one smokes. So smelling smoke with my breakfast was...
