I recently had the misfortune of visiting "The Steps," and I must say it was a complete disappointment from start to finish. This review serves as a warning to those seeking a decent bar experience: avoid this place at all costs.

Let's start with the service, which was undoubtedly the worst aspect of my visit. The staff at "The Steps" seemed completely uninterested in providing even the most basic level of customer care. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that the employees lacked any semblance of professionalism or courtesy. They were disorganized, neglectful, and completely indifferent to the customers' needs. It took an eternity for someone to acknowledge my presence, and even then, the service was slow and unreliable. My simple requests were met with sighs and eye-rolls, making me feel like a burden rather than a valued patron.

Moving on to the food, I was appalled by the exorbitant prices charged at "The Steps." The menu boasted an array of options, but the quality of the dishes simply did not justify the steep costs. I reluctantly ordered an item that seemed promising, only to receive a mediocre plate of food that lacked any distinctive flavors. The portion size was embarrassingly small, leaving me hungry and feeling like I had wasted my hard-earned money. visited The Steps last night for what was supposed to be a fun retro-themed party with friends and colleagues from work. I had my reservations made, and we were all looking forward to the night.

However, upon arrival, I was shocked and disappointed by what happened at the entrance. While my friends were allowed in without issue, the Face ID system they use refused to let me through. It was clear that the only difference between us was the color of my skin. I was the only one stopped, questioned, and ultimately denied entry by a system that, frankly, felt biased and discriminatory.

It’s 2025, and it’s unacceptable that someone can be excluded from a space because of the color of their skin—especially under the guise of “security technology.” Whether it was the system or the people behind it, the experience felt dehumanizing and deeply offensive.

The Steps needs to take a hard look at their practices, especially if they pride themselves on being inclusive and welcoming. No one should be made to feel less than or turned away for something as simple and unchangeable...

This place has it all. Location, interior, ambiance, roof top cinema, shared working space, night bar and daytime bistro. It’s one of these gems that every multicultural city has with unexplainable chill atmosphere, easy going staff and , let me tell you, THE BEST CAPUCCINO EVER! LGBT+ friendly! You can spend time reading books there, because there is honest to God library, you can use it as a remote office, you can gather friends and celebrate. It’s a favorite place for cultural and music happenings, wine and draw gatherings, book and movie presentation. It’s a favorite spot of the LGBT+ crowd so if that’s not your cup of tea you can always go elsewhere. If you choose to visit, make sure to be respectful and bring good vibes with you.
