Old Place Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Khan Boeng Keng Kang

I came here several times for lunch and dinner and always booked a VIP room. A few times, I was told I would need to spend a minimum amount in order to use the VIP room. Whereas some times, I wasn't told about this minimum spend. So I guess it depends on the demand on that day.

Food is good here, again depending on which menu you picked. There are some great ones and some okay. Tea and dessert is not complimentary like another upscale Chinese restaurant I've been to.

Atmosphere is great in the VIP room. There's an un suite toilet inside which is a plus.

But in terms of customer service, they could do better. The staffs are not present in the room and will only come if we call them. So in case you need an on going table service, this can become quite inconvenient. However, the good thing in this is that you get your own privacy when staffs aren't around all the time. Speaking manners of the staff, they still have room for improvement... of course not all of them are bad, but some still needs to practice to have a more professional approach...

Sad excuse for "Chinese" food. This is the typical situation where you pay for the "prestige" of eating at an expensive place. It is not, however, worth the cost in terms of food taste. You shouldn't end up getting sick as the cleanliness and food quality seems to be up there but everything was bland as hell. Mushy Bai Cha, flavorless fish, just not good.

After reading other reviews I had to come back and edit mine just to say I feel sorry for all the reviews that say this was good Chinese food, some even saying it is the best there is in town. If this is what PP has to offer you are missing out on so much quality Canton flavor that it is rediculous. I know of fast food places with better Chinese dishes. Good experience in 2013. Bad service nowadays, just 2 samples : I commanded from the menu book several dishes, and for one of them, it shows a picture of a whole chicken with sesame, but what I finally got is a half of chicken for the same price; I have also commanded a bottle of french redwine of year 2002 I have asked the waiter to confirm the price, then 10 minutes later, another waiter come to tell me there is no more and suggest another redwine of year 2014 for the same price : God dammed it !!!
