Fu Lu Zu is a standout Chinese restaurant located in Phnom Penh, offering a refined dining experience with a focus on Cantonese cuisine. Situated within the luxurious setting of NagaWorld, this restaurant is ideal for those seeking a more upscale atmosphere, yet it maintains a warm and inviting vibe.
The highlight of Fu Lu Zu is undoubtedly its dim sum, which is served fresh and beautifully presented. The variety is impressive, with classic favorites like har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork dumplings), and char siu bao (barbecue pork buns) that are all prepared with precision and high-quality ingredients. The dumplings are light, delicate, and packed with flavor, making them a must-try.
In addition to the dim sum, the main menu offers a selection of Cantonese-style roast meats, seafood dishes, and soups. The Peking duck, in particular, is a popular choice, roasted to perfection with crispy skin and tender meat. The seafood dishes, such as the steamed fish and stir-fried prawns, are fresh and flavorful, showcasing the kitchen’s skill in preparing premium ingredients.
The service at Fu Lu Zu is attentive and professional, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and ready to provide recommendations. The ambiance is elegant, with a mix of traditional Chinese décor and modern touches, creating a comfortable yet sophisticated dining experience.
While the prices at Fu Lu Zu are on the higher side compared to local restaurants, the quality of the food, service, and ambiance makes it worth the splurge, especially for special occasions.
Overall, Fu Lu Zu is an excellent choice for anyone in Phnom Penh looking to enjoy authentic Cantonese cuisine in an upscale setting. Whether you’re there for dim sum or a full dinner, you’re in for a...
Read moreIt has been quite a while I heard about this Fu Lu Zu Chinese restaurant, in Sofitel Phokeethra Phnom Penh. From the first time I heard this name, I'm eager to try the dim sum. I imagine a tender chicken claw, shrimp dumpling, etc. the same taste and tenderness as good as in Guangzhou, Hong Kong or Shanghai.
And today I have the opportunity to try the dumplings that this restaurant offered.
The resraurant is located at the right wing of the complex of Sofitel Phokeetha Hotel in Sothearos Boulevard, just next to AEON Mall 1.
As a routine thing during Covid-19 Pandemic, you will be offered to have you body temperature checked, scan QR Code of anti-Covid.
The restaurant is not big enough; around 50 seats, I guess. The waitress are nice, helpful and dynamics. Five stars for the services, for the waitress, and the restaurant itself.
However when come to the food, I don't think that they tastful as good as in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai. As a person where I spent more than eight years in China (Guangzhou, Shanghai and often visits Hong Kong), I know the general taste of Chinese dumpling.
The price is fair enough, $15++ / per person during weekdays and $19++ / per person during weekend.
If rated by number, where 1 being the least delicious to 10 being most delicious, then I would give a "6" mark the dumplings that I ate at this Fu Lu Zu Restaurant.
If you look for good environment over the taste, then this Fu Lu Zu is recommendable.
But if you look for taste of dumplings that is close to the original taste, I would recommend you to go to other places that serve Hong Kong / Chinese / Canton dim sum establishment...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite dim sum spots in Phnom Penh. They offer a wide variety of dim sum, similar to what you’d find in Cha Chaan Teng or Yum Cha restaurants in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and other parts of the Greater Bay Area. In fact, I think some of their dishes are even better than those I’ve had in Hong Kong. It’s an all-you-can-eat dim sum experience, so feel free to order as much as you like, but be mindful not to waste food. Drinks are not included in the all-you-can-eat menu—you either purchase them separately or go for the free-flow package, which is almost the same price as the food, which I found a bit odd. Service-wise, they are excellent—quick and friendly. Overall, it was a great...
