I really wanted to like this place, especially after reading all the reviews and looking at the photos online. Greatly disappointed when I actually arrived to discover the tough truth. This is NOT a new property as described in their listings. Perhaps the hotel business in this particular building might be fairly recent, but the building itself is very old with a quick new facade of Sheetrock and sloppy painting thrown up to cover over age and grime. Also be advised, they list features and amenities for some of their rooms which they do not provide. I specifically booked a room with an in room security safe. The room they gave me was barely large enough to only accommodate the bed, had dirty floors, hard as a rock mattress, sour smelling bed linen, cracked tiles, old capped pipes sticking out of the walls in the bathroom, no windows an NO security safe box. When I inquired, they pushed me to upgrade to a more costly room. Oh, the room door locks are about 50 years old without any throw bolt and still use conventional keys. buyer beware! I only stayed one night out of the eleven I paid for before moving to a much nicer hotel. It was that bad. The hotel’s response to Agoda when I requested a refund was, “this was all a misunderstanding on the part of the guest because they failed to read and fully understand the features of the room they booked.” No, Grand Elevation Hotel, more likely you are dishonest in how you represent the features and qualities of your hotel online to future guests in foreign countries. Even though I only stayed one night, they still charged me for two before agreeing to any refund and the topper of this entire disaster was a set of ear buds mysteriously disappeared from my room before I could escape. Don’t believe your eyes or what you read about this hotel on line, it’s a DUMP run by scheming management. Many thanks to Agoda Customer Service for brokering my refund from these worms. For only a few dollars more, there are several hotels, all within 1 km, that leave this place in the...
Read moreWhere do I start. I never normally right bad reviews especially in country which is not my own but on this occasion my stay from start to finish was a complete nightmare. I had to change my room 3 times!
The first room was right next to a building site in which I could hear constant drilling, until late in the evening. I asked if I could change rooms, they moved me to the exact room just one floor up! I you paid for one night, the next day wanted to leave because I could not get any rest due to such noice but they were going to charge me a cancellation fee because I had originally planned to stay for 4 nights. I did not want to stay because the facilities were shocking. Finally I agreed to stay and they moved me to a middle room. Much quieter which was adequate enough for me to at least get some sleep.
However, on the 3rd and final room change, I sat on the bed (I am no heavier than 9 stone) and the bed completely collapsed. I told staff at reception they did nothing about it. I slept in the other single bed next to it. It was only until the cleaner finally saw it that she got someone to repair it.
The shower was broken, only had a hot shower once whilst I was there, and the shower was hanging off the wall.
Breakfast was very mediocre, the coffee machine didn’t work!!!!!! The person in charge of breakfast was very nice but there was never any food left in the morning. It was without a doubt one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had and I am a frequent traveller who rarely complains. I would never stay...
Read moreArrived at the hotel at 2pm with 2 others, the counter staffs stayed at their respective locations staring at you without communication and couldn't be bothered to assist with luggages.
I am not sure about the treatment to others but maybe we looked younger than the staffs or there is some 'racist' issue thus the treatment.
Was allocated a room near the elevator, the room was clean but noises from outside can be heard due to the corridor location and people smoking near the elevator area.
Our room was offered free breakfast but we had to check out early the next morning before the breakfast start so I can't comment on that.
Upon check-out, the counter staffs were either chatting away or on the phone rather than attending to you immediately. I stood at the counter for another 10mins and still nobody attended to me before my pickup car arrived. Left the room key at the counter and boarded my pickup.
It's service needs some serious ELEVATION in order to live with it's 'GRAND ELEVATION' name otherwise we can't seemed to feel...
