Bassac Street — Attraction in Khan Chamkar Mon

It used to be a very cozy and quality place filled with loads of different, atypical bars. Now it has turned into a massive mess filled with loads of bars and restaurants, pretty much all serving the same cheap stuff and competing with each other to attract as many young partygoers as possible. There wasn't much happening at the trendy taverns and restaurants squeezed onto Bassac Street and the surrounding alleys when I visited. There weren't many people outside and even fewer inside eating and drinking. Somewhat recent development by a pair of owners of a street for numerous trendy bars and restaurants. “Speakeasy type bars”, fun restaurants with great food. Very tourist friendly with handful of locals too. Prices are adjusted (higher but reasonable) for the vibe and ambiance. It’s definitely a nice place to go out to when visiting.
