Edit December 2023.
I have been coming to Dragon Fort since 1987, much longer than most of the present staff there have even been alive. The old restaurant was a walk up, darker and much cozier place. The new restaurant is wide open and without much character. It's a tradition that my daughter and I eat lunch there after some Christmas shopping, we've been doing that for about 8 years. I have always loved the food, the portions and the prices. In days gone by the staff were welcoming, happy and helpful as well as familiar. I come here for lunches with work crew, dinners with family, the food is awesome and to this day and the pricing is still fair for the portion you get. Today was different. Today we were seated agonist immediately then forgotten for 15 minutes. After ordering we then waited an additional 30 minutes only to get my dish but not my daughters. I was almost half way done when hers showed up, incorrect. I was almost done when hers finally came back, with no apology, no explanation, nothing. No one came back to ask how our meal was, and when we finished I had to ask someone for the bill, as no one came to see to us. I have never I'm my 30+ years of patronizing this restaurant had such abysmal service from staff so completely devoid of customer awareness. The food was still delicious, the value is still there, but the zombies waiting tables are like nothing I have ever experienced. We were so immensely disappointed in the experience, we may have to change our Christmas tradition.
To the owners, you should take this seriously, your wait staff are the face and voice of your establishment, they can affect change adversely or proactively. The service we encountered today brought into question a tradition of 8 Years from a customer of over 30 years.
I have been coming here for over 25 years. The staff are authentic and care about their business and the customers that have kept them in business. Lunch specials are all under $9 and most of the time there is more than enough to placate the most robust appetite, with fresh, hot ingredients. Their menu selections and dinner specials are again very generous and absolutely delicious. Very quick service if they are told you are in a hurry, can accommodate very large parties and will go out of their way to secure your...
Read moreI’m not sure where to start with this place. I’m gona review based on the experience we had on a Sunday evening. It’s probably better on other days but man what a gong show during our visit.
The place is very westernized in the sense that there were only forks on the table (everyone with us was looking for chopsticks) and we didn’t get the usual hot tea, but got iced lemon water instead. That’s fine. Place was very crowded, loud and seating was tight. We were seated right away as my mom called ahead for a table.
We did have a big group so I can’t blame them for the order mess up. We came in at 6 and wasn’t able to eat till 7:45…that’s when ALL of our food was on the table. I overheard our waitress tell another group that there’s some conflict in the kitchen, not sure what that was about.
Anyway, our food came in like 5-10 minute intervals and a couple orders brought to us (not by our server) were wrong but our server was quick to correct them. Our server was very apologetic at the end and it honestly couldn’t be her fault so that’s okay.
The food was alright, I would recommend their fish dishes, because those were definitely delicious. We had 3 different kinds, sweet and sour cod, green onion and ginger cod, and pan fried cod with seasonal vegetables. Everything else was either too sweet (chicken chow mein), greasy (fried rice) or just didn’t taste right (honey garlic wings). Can’t complain much though because the price isn’t bad at all.
Oh also, funny thing, I ordered takeout online for my fiancé and I got that order before our food on the table was complete. My fiancé said that the takeout was pretty good and had big portions, enough for 2 meals per dinner for 1.
I would like to come back and give this place another chance, maybe not for Sunday...
Read moreIf there was an option to give a “negative” star review we wouldn’t hesitate. Like others, we placed a Christmas Eve order days in advance and called in the morning of to confirm our order and delivery, which they did. After our delivery time had passed, with a house full of people waiting, we called in only to be told it would be at least another 1.5 hrs, and wouldn’t be any sooner if we offered to come pick up, etc. What terrible business! Had we not called we would have never heard from them as their “manager” said “we don’t call customers”! So what, we just sit and wonder when our dinner will arrive, if ever?!?!? They should not be taking orders, and agree to deliveries, if they cannot meet the demand! Shame on you for ruining so many peoples holiday dinners!!! The kicker was the HORRIBLE service from Chelsea who claimed to be the “manager”. She was rude, insensitive, dismissive and straight up a hot mess! “What do you want me to do”, “it’s Christmas Eve, what do you expect”, “we don’t give credit”, “if you don’t’ like it, cancel your order”, the list goes on. This business needs to do themselves a solid and remove her from any position within that involves customer service. It was honestly appalling! Like many, so it seems, we will NEVER return. Hong Dynasty up the road is 1000% better and more reasonably priced. Only reason we didn’t start there is they don’t offer delivery (nor is there dine in)- but WAAAAAYYY better food, better service, and better pricing. In our opinion, businesses that treat their customers like this should not...
