Edo Japan — Restaurant in Abbotsford

Food was pretty good, and value I’d say is pretty decent for the easy platter. But it felt weird walking in to pick up my order I made through their website for takeout. As soon as I walked in, it felt like I was on a spotlight and not in a good way. After I said I had a takeout order and all, I realized there was some strict looking ceo kinda dude I’m assuming standing behind them making the new staff feel anxious and uneasy as I could clearly feel. Though the staff were nice, it felt overly nice if that makes sense. And I think it didn’t feel genuine because it was out of fear through whoever Mr. Bossman was, breathing down their necks behind them. My friend who went later in the day felt the same way. I personally won’t be going back as I don’t like whoever that guy is that’s creating stress on the employees. So in conclusion, he was the problem for at least two people that I can confirm on this specific case. So if you’re looking for a new job and interested in this place that’s hiring, I’d reconsider as it’s probably not a healthy comfortable...

My experience at Edo Japan was incredibly disappointing. I attempted to contact them three times to request no avocado in one of the rolls, but they didn't answer any of my calls. When my order finally arrived, I was shocked by the tiny size of the prawn tempuras—they were barely larger than my thumb and tasted nothing like prawn. The sushi seemed mass-produced and not freshly made in-house. The ingredients looked far from fresh, and the overall taste was underwhelming and overpriced.

To make matters worse, I couldn't even eat the tempura or spring rolls; the latter tasted horrible, and I'm unsure what they were made of. I get its later at night and people are tired from a long work day heck I know I am, but to mess up every step of the way on simple meals is ridiculous. Left out half of our bento order causing us to wait longer for it to be made, but also added mushroom to my meal even though we had asked no mushrooms when it was brought up they refused to remake it so now I have no food because I have an allergy to mushroom, then they where very skimpy on our yam tempura order as well as dropping a few on the floor and putting them on the cold front counter next to the cash register where they sat for at lest 5 minutes before being put in the Togo bag….this is the only location in Abbotsford and honestly I won’t be back again this is the 3rd time in a row where they have messed up.
