Famous Chicken — Restaurant in Abbotsford

2021 update After 3 different orders recently I can say that the gravy is better than listed in my original experience. The chicken has been consistent. I do believe now I didn't get spicy the first time as requested. Still not my level of spice but for the average consumer it would be directed to, the spice would probably be sufficient.

Chicken... 8/10 Gravy.. 9/10 Fries... Still holding out that they could do better with fresh raw potatos and a fry cutter, and would be cheaper for their food costs. 2/10

Business has been getting a facelift inside as well. Looks good, clean, and easy to navigate menu board.

2019 original Alright so lets give this a honest response. I will break down.

Gravy - standard run of the mill with ladle of oil from the chicken fryer. But as with attached photo too much fryer oil was used and you can see the separation. Unfortunately the oil was old and you have the taste of burnt chicken bits from the oil as a taste of the gravy. Cannot truthfully recommend or not to as this may be a limited occurrence

Fries - standard crinkle cut fries. Frozen from a bag and deep fried. A definite missed opportunity here. Do not recommend.

Chicken - Crunch - well i was asked if i wanted all spicy. I said yes please. I feel the kitchen put down a regular variant. Was not spicy to my taste and didnt taste any spice. But chicken was well battered, Juicy and fresh.

Staff - polite and respectful. Place was quiet at this time.

Overall: chicken 8/10, fries 2/10, gravy 3/10.

Review take away: Better than KFC, would get chicken here...

Lee's Chicken Abbotsford... The absolute most appalling & rudest customer service experience I've ever had. Horrible! Specifically speaking of the woman that is always running the counter and has quite the reputation on Social Media I now see.

I ordered a crispy chicken breast burger.. She gave me a plain chicken burger.. Like a round processed chicken burger, not chicken breast, no crispy batter. I nicely told her that a mistake was made, and that I ordered that crispy chicken breast burger, pointing to the picture on the wall. She said "no, you just said chicken burger, I gave you chicken burger " I disagreed, and told her I'd never order that, I always get crispy chicken BREAST burgers... Only eat white meat... I then offered to pay the difference if she undercharged me. Then she started yelling at me and saying I was lying. I was shocked.. Once again, I asked for what I ordered.. Said I'd wait. She went off on me!! YELLING that she's a business, that she already cooked me a chicken burger.. What is she supposed to do with the one she incorrectly made...She then told me I'd have to pay for the full amount of the crispy chicken breast burger if I wanted it. I was appaled at the way she was treating me! I told her she needs to stop yelling at me and practice better customer service, that good customer service is key to a successful business, and asked for my money back. She opened the till & threw it on the counter at me told me to "get out". Yup.. All that over one chicken burger. There was a guy behind me who walked out with me.. Shaking his head!...

What a great chicken sandwich. Apparently this is the Kentucky Fried Chicken's original recipe. It mostly certainly was tasty and delicious. The gravy for the fries is amazing and made from the chicken's juices that they cook... Talk about the closest to home made gravy that I have ingested in any kind of restaurant. This place is worth the visit as you will more likely be a repeat customer... no wonder they have been in the same location for 25 years. Now, just a bit of a warning the tables in the dining room are the very outdated and most uncomfortable 2 and 4 seat patio style furniture. Consider the option of take out for comfort but if you do eat in the girl who served my friends and I was not only helpful in processing our order, but she told us the history of the restaurant and was an amazing host as she engaged us throughout our whole visit with witty and charming conversation/ banter. My apologies for not getting her name as she was fun and contributed to an overall...
