Jasmine Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Abbotsford

We found this unique Chinese restaurant tucked in a corner lot and were hungry. I have noticed many cars, filling the lot and in front of Jasmine G. Restaurant at lunch time. We went in and got a very huge assortment of Chinese food and drinks. Now having enjoyed the owner (Clarisa) with her beautiful smile always happy and showing appreciation that we came here. We have lived in Abbotsford many years (Seniors), and tried numerous restaurants. We have been coming almost every week and met a patron who stated, yes every week I come here. The restaurant has Chinese decor, a fish tank too small for one fairly large Chinese fish, (but our opinion), no music so we can converse easily. The employees are cordial, smiling all the time, service is great. Quality of food here is excellent and always very hot, heaping amounts when served. The food service is fast and we have never had a mistake, prices are fair. Clarisa has a amazing memory as we never have to look at the menu, she always remembers! What a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. I notice all ages comes in and many take out food orders. The restaurant is clean, has chairs at tables big, small, also booth seating. There are washrooms. The lunch menu has a good selection and special food prices very reason for what is offered. This is definitely our favorite restaurant! “I’ll get you TOILET PAPER!!!” Well, this was not what I was expecting… had great expectations due to traveling a long distance and very hungry! Slow service to begin with, taste I’d rate 3.5, quality 4, presentation 3.5. Two of our meals were really white and plain… we asked for napkins three times, not a big deal, until you all need napkins… then this lady who acted as if she was in charge, when we asked a fourth time says, “I’ll get you a roll of TOILET PAPER, Okay!” Rudely said but giggled & laughed… The whole table stopped eating and we were quiet for moment and stopped chewing… uhm, did she just say what I thought she said…??? We supposed that she was trying to be funny … but I would assume that if you, as an owner or server would have been trained that you, never ever, ever never, say to your guests the WORD, TOILET! Ever never!!! Oh the first set of napkins arrived and there were 3, of the cheapest napkins you can buy, there were four of us eating…The food was ok, not something I’d say let’s go here after traveling 17 hours to visit family! Ya, I’d say let’s go else where… there are other unpleasant details, but nothing like the one above, but needless to say, I’d recommend any other Chinese restaurant! Happy...

Ordered 3 dishes: House Special Chow Mein Pineapple Sweet & Sour Boneless Pork House Special Fried Rice Chicken Chow Mein Since when is pineapple sweet & sour boneless pork chewy and dry. Also they are very stingy on the pineapple. The sweet & sour sauce was very bland. The Chicken Chow Mein and Fried Rice were absolutely tasteless, all you tasted was either noodles or pasty rice. I like my food to have flavour. When you read the reviews, there’s a lot similar, dry chewy no taste etc. You think they would read the reviews and put some flavour in their food, or maybe they don’t read the reviews. It was recommended by a co worker, would I try it again absolutely not. 2023-Aug-25 Decided to give them a second chance maybe it was a one off. I ordered Chicken Chow Mein Pineapple Sweet & Sour Boneless Pork The food was no different when I first reviewed it. It’s evident they don’t care about the quality of food, it’s all about making money. They were closed for a few weeks on holidays, so you know if a restaurant can close for a few weeks it’s a cash cow. Price for the sweet and sour pork ridiculous for portion size, and it’s canned pineapple. I will definitely not order from Jasmine...
