We had the pleasure of having Lalit and his team at Zaika cater our entire wedding in April this year.
I can honestly say Lalit went above and beyond and put so much care and effort into everything he did.
All of our guests were SO impressed by the quality of food, service and efforts that went into catering our events.
My husband and I both had our Maiyaan & Jaggo parties at their Banquet Hall in Mission. Beautiful venue, amazing DJ, killer bar and service!
The process was simple, easy and effortless. I was contacted for their in house decorations and the team did everything and went above and beyond our expectations!
The appetizers were absolutely amazing. One request was gole gappe and did they deliver! Everyone raved about the ambiance, food, bar and overall set up at the hall.
My husbands Maiyaan & Jaggo, Lalit prepared a second menu (different than the night before) and all our family and guests had nothing but amazing things to say. The taste, different food variety down to the deserts was absolutely wonderful!
Next we had catering at my parents house on two occasions. The first was my second maiyaan and choora night. The team prepared smash burgers (beef, veggie), they prepared some Italian dishes which were spot on! My favorite part was the tacos! My Mamma Ji's from Indiana are major Mexican food fans - they were thrilled and so happy with the fact the tacos were good!
Being Indian, its hard to get variety of food you are eating... but did Lalit and his team ever make this seem like such an easy task!! They killed it with the variety, taste and honestly, I am left speechless by the efforts and amazing work they did!! The team at Zaika killed it with changing up the menu for all of our events and we were very impressed and our guests tummy's so very happy! They had the food truck going, everything was fresh as could be!
The next even catered was our Wedding at the Gurdwara. Again, different menu, food and taste was amazing! Lalit even had coffee and ice cream brought in! The attention to detail was amazing. He had a stamp created for the coffee for out guests personalized with our names and wedding date - this meant SO much and was truly so special to us!
There was pancakes, assorted breakfast items etc. Being a nervous bride not wanting to eat too much fried food - I was content with my pancakes and mango lassi :) Now, the Ice Cream - wow! I was not expecting that and honestly made everyone's day.
Last but not least, came the catering for the Doli. Lalit again KILLED it!! I came into the garage to see his team grilling lamb chops!
The food again, was a massive hit with everyone who came to the house for the Doli. Men, women, kids, meat eaters, vegetarians, EVERYONE was catered to! Indian food, non indian food. Again we were thoroughly impressed!
Lalit and the team at Zaika took extra care to cater for younger kids as well. Chicken strips, nuggets, french fries - all ages were happy with the food! My nephews can be picky eaters so the fact they ate and tasted everything - AMAZING!
I cannot say enough good things about Lalit and his team at Zaika!
Food was elevated, taste was amazing, service was top notch and I can say we, our families and even our guests were SO impressed with all the effort, detail and care that was put into catering all of our events.
I have nothing but high praises for Lalit and the team at Zaika!!
If you are ever thinking about where to go - I can honestly say Zaika can do it ALL!!
You will not be disappointed! The interactions and whole process was easy, smooth and Lalit is honestly such a joy to work with :)
He had ideas I don't think I would have even fathomed... he made our Wedding so special for us and all of our guests - we will never forget all of it...nor our guests!
Prices were very reasonable as well given all the effort, variety and service we received. Nothing but GOOD compliments to pass along here!
Highly recommend using Zaika for any events you are thinking of catering!
Lalit and team at Zaika - a MASSIVE THANK YOU for everything...
Read moreOK..now where should we start on this one. I had been to this place before and I have usually had an average kind of experience, food as well as service wise. But during my last visit, this place disappointed me beyond comprehension. They promote their buffet a lot and my wife and I thought we will check it out. We had a look at the buffet spread and did not find it appealing. It looked like an assortment of leftover food. So, we decided to order something from the menu. The wait staff was not too amused at our decision. Maybe they have been directed to promote the buffet so as to open up the freezer space. We waited for about five minutes and when no-one paid any attention, I went to a waitress and asked if I can have a menu. We were really hungry so ordered the Indian version of fast food--the chhole bhature assuming that one can't really go wrong with this dish. But guess what? they managed to ruin chhole bhature too. First we had to wait for 30 minutes for our food to arrive because the kitchen was not ready for cooking. Yes, that is what the waitress told me that they ignited the stove after we ordered. And the whole process takes about 30 minutes. She never warned us about it. Of course she never bothered to apologize for the delay. Rather she got so miffed at our dismay that she refused to come and refill our glasses with water. And when the food finally arrived, it was the most bland food I had ever tasted. I have had mashed potatoes that had more flavour than their chhole (curried chickpeas) and the bhaturas was no where near the crispiness one expects. The waitress meanwhile continued to make us feel unwelcome. I kid you not, after those chhole bhature, McD sounded yummy. And don't even get me started on their so called Indian style chinese food. Maybe the chef thinks "Indian style" means dousing everything in Soy sauce. Maybe we should have stuck to the stale buffet dishes. I am never going...
Read moreWe had our small wedding reception here at Zaika’s and it was PERFECT for us. We both love Zaika’s authentic cuisine and the banquet room is ADORABLE. It had the rustic look we were going for but definitely not rundown by any means. It had a touch of class from the entrance of the restaurant to the marble banquet countertop. Lee took great care of us from start to finish. He was so accommodating and answered my many texts messages after we put a deposit down. He promised with the pandemic going on that we would get a full, refund no questions asked, if anything relating to the pandemic stopped us from being able to have the reception. He even went as far as to set up the beautiful backdrop and seating for my husband and I, it was my favourite part of the decor! Further more... I dropped off all of the table decorations the day of and the staff did the tables while we got married. It was so hassle free and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We played music and had speeches using the speaker that’s set up there. My ONLY complaint would be that we had too few guests because we did have a pandemic wedding. If you’re planning on doing that too I would suggest that you ask the staff to bring all the food out at once. I thought appetizers and then a meal would work but with only 12 people it would of been best to have a large spread all at once. Other than that, the staff social distanced, the tables were apart from eachother and the food was wonderful. Oh and I can’t forget the bar... they even had a bar set up in this restaurant so YAY FOR US LOL. We all enjoyed many cocktails to celebrate and the bar had no trouble keeping up with us....And the price for all of it was SOOO GOOOD! It was exactly what I wanted. THANK YOU LEE AND THE TEAM at Zaika’s Tastes of India
Sincerely, Steven and...
