Harvey's — Restaurant in Airdrie

Haven't been to Harvey's in a while. I decided to pop into tonight for a quick meal with my son. I have been working late this evening and wasn't able to get there till 8:30. I work in Calgary but live in Airdrie. Very slippery driving lot so took my time sliding to get into the restaurant. Once we were in and waiting at the counter I was informed that we could only order food to go since they were closing in half an hour. Was a nice young teenager and I explained that I really did not want to eat my burger in My car in this cold weather and not interested in going home to eat. That's why we went out. Funny how their site online states that most people only stay in the restaurant for 25 minutes. I decided not to take the food to go and wasn't impressed with the service. Turned to leave and then asked if they had a business card or someone I could put a complaint in with. The young boy asked the cook in the back and no they had no info to share. Just go online. I know this establishment is privately owned and I thought maybe the owned should know that his employees should be a little more courteous to customers. I was then offered to have food and they would make an acception for us. But I felt that maybe because I made a fuss the food would be comprised and besides they wanted to go home. Then it was explained that the lights go out at 9 and I'd be in the dark. Hmmmmmm doesn't anyone know how to turn on a light? Conclusion I left. Ticked off enough to write that a Harvey's should be open later on a Friday night and maybe you need new staff. Guess this location has lost my business and I will mention this to my friends a family. ...

Update - March 2025 Ordered a buffalo chicken poutine and it had a single chicken strip on it in huge chunks. The sauce was definitely lacking as well.

Update - February 2025 Lots of new staff recently and wow has the quality of service and food taken a HUGE hit! Super disappointed, I asked for extra lettuce when I ordered through the app and got what should be considered light lettuce at best. I've gotten more lettuce when just asking for normal lettuce! I had a buffalo chicken poutine two weeks ago and was super disappointed with it as well! Half the amount of chicken I used to get and left in huge chunks that you can't eat in a single bite and definitely not with any poutine included in the bite. (Forgot to snag a picture, sorry!)

March 2024 - 5 STAR - The STAFF at this place are GOLDEN!!! 💛 I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and after a couple weeks felt up to trying to eat something a bit more substantial than soup and such and the staff set me up! I normally order the Buffalo Chicken Poutine and was craving it so badly but wasn't sure if I'd be able to open my mouth enough to eat the chicken bits or if the Buffalo would burn my mouth. I asked if they could cut up the chicken really small and put just a little bit of Buffalo sauce on and the staff were beyond understanding and kind! They cut everything small and went light on the sauce! I quite literally cried because it was so good and I was so hungry! The staff every day after were amazing too because I definitely ate that same thing for a solid week! I will always remember this because I really needed a pick me up! I have spent the last 2 days recovering from food poisoning. Good thing it’s my only days off or I would’ve sued for time lost at work. I am glad my pregnant wife didn’t eat any of my burger. Why is it so hard to sanitize your work areas. It’s Pathetic when you can’t even meet the basics of food sanitation. Don’t write back giving some line about how well you clean because you DON’T and DIDN’T!!!! I know it is your food because other then eggs in the morning (more then 9 hours before Harvey’s) that was all I had to eat. Food poisoning sets in the first 12 hours and I didn’t feel the symptoms till 11 hours after breakfast and 2 hours after Harvey’s. Dairy poisoning tends to set in fast opposed to e-coli. Not to feel any side effects for 10 hours and the 11th I get hit like a brick wall not very likely to be the eggs (not to mention I’ve had the same batch of eggs 5 days I a row without issue and they stay refrigerated. I know how to saniatize my kitchen!). Hopefully your better at math then sanitation. I won’t eat at Harvey’s ever again. I have been in the past without a issue, but I’m not going to chance it ever again. Did some research and seems Harvey’s in mutiple locations have had issues. Over 230 e-coli cases in North bay Ontario. Is this a facility issue or a chain training concern? I don’t have the answers for you. That’s why you follow the guidelines outlines by the Canadian FSIS, and CFIA. You don’t care enough about your customers or your own work areas, so I don’t care to ever eat at...
