Go for the health of it; return for the flavor! We came in today for a very late lunch/early supper. My husband had been eyeing the restaurant's opening for some time. I finally relented because I'd perused the menu and had dismissed it initially as "just another Greek-style quick-service restaurant". Well, I was wrong and very mistaken. Moody's Mediterranean isn't "just another franchise quick-service restaurant". It's a family-run business who take pride in the food they serve, and provide an authentic taste of the Mediterranean. I typically dislike eating falafel, but I tried a falafel stuffed pita because Moody explained that the falafel is prepared to order. Then, I was interested in the Fatouch salad but because it comes with radishes, I was going to pass on it. Again, Moody explained that the salad isn't pre-made, so he could easily omit the radishes. The Fatouch comes sprinkled with pita chips and tossed in sumac dressing. Wow; the falafels were amazing, and the salad was so fresh and bright-tasting. My husband chose the lamb pita; the lamb was so tender. I was so impressed with the portions; Moody asked me what fillings I wanted in my pita. One of the items was housemade pickles; they were delicious! So briny and flavourful!! Otherwise, the fillings include lettuce, tomatoes, jalapenos, radishes and your choice of tzatsiki, hummus, or tahini sauces. Moody's will be our go-to comfort food place. There's also Turkish coffee which I spied on the menu and a dessert cake called Kanufa which is what I'll be ordering next time I'm craving an afternoon or late-night dessert. Let's support our local business owners and eat heathy and...
Read moreI’m sorry but this is hands down some of the worst food I’ve ever had, and most definitely the #1 worst Mediterranean food I’ve ever had. We ordered Uber Eats from here tonight and firstly, if you have take out orders - include utensils. We just moved and every place we’ve ordered from has given utensils but this place so we were forced to eat (if you could call it that) with our hands. Onto the main issue - the actual food. The jalapeño poppers were cold and soggy but flavour wise they were the best thing we had. We got the kabob plates and I have no idea what kind of seasonings they use, but the flavours are horrible and tasted like I was eating a Christmas tree - I love Mediterranean food and this doesn’t taste like that at all, it tastes like someone’s take on Mediterranean food but like they just grabbed whatever weird seasonings are in their cupboard and hoped for the best. The tatziki and potatoes tasted awful and for a Mediterranean restaurant these are very basic things to get right. The rice was hard, bland and flavourless and to top it off the meat was chewy and hard in some places. In all honesty Opa Souvlaki is better than this place so I would 100% not waste your money here. Local place or not, if your food isn’t good you don’t deserve a good review. Will never eat here again. We ended up eating a few bites and threw it out - thank god we had some leftover pizza...
Read moreI stopped in yesterday to order some food for my family as I never ate here before. When I walked in to order I stood there for 5 mins and 3 workers were there. So I got a young fellows attention and asked if I could place an order. He replied I don’t take orders and went back to cooking meat. This place wasn’t busy at all and I was the only one at the counter. I waited another few mins and still no one came to take my order. I just walked out irritated and went to the pita basket, poor customer service. I won’t be back to try there food.
So I decided to give this restaurant another try and see how there food was as I genuinely think they deserved another chance as the owners replied to my previous review. I ordered the take out and got two platters the lamb and the beef and an order of falafel and I must say I was impressed. The food was fresh and really tasty. The size portions were big and I was very full after eating it. I would recommend this place and I...
