Review for OPA, Airdrie on Sierra Springs
I recently visited OPA and found the overall experience to be less than satisfactory. Upon entering the restaurant, I encountered a noticeable delay in service. Despite standing at the counter for approximately 5 minutes, the employees engrossed in their work failed to acknowledge or serve me promptly. This lapse was surprising and, frankly, a tad frustrating.
Having been a General Manager in a car dealership, I've been trained to prioritize customers present on the premises. I'd expect a similar ethos in the hospitality sector. However, this visit didn't quite meet that expectation.
To make matters worse, the Calamari I ordered left much to be desired. It was noticeably dry and lacked the freshness that one would anticipate from a dish like this. This was especially disappointing as I had recently enjoyed some exemplary Calamari in Montreal, making the contrast even more stark. Though I must mention, the rice accompanying the dish was prepared well.
While waiting for my order, I noted the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the establishment. The table where I chose to sit was sticky to the touch, raising concerns about the overall hygiene standards maintained by the restaurant.
It's worth noting that I had previously ordered the same dish from this very establishment via Skip The Dishes and was met with a similar experience - the Calamari was dry and lacked flavor. I had hoped that dining in might offer a different outcome, but unfortunately, it was consistently disappointing.
While I understand reviews might not sway everyone's opinion, I believe it's essential for establishments to take feedback seriously. I typically provide reviews based on fair assessment and only resort to criticism when genuinely merited. Sadly, in this case, I felt compelled to share my less-than-stellar...
Read moreThis was a mediocre dining experience. My wife had the spankopita and I had the rice Olympus bowl. Ordering and receiving the food was fine.
The labels on the pop machine are filthy; someone should take a couple minutes to give them a good scrub down. I was leery of getting a drink out of there after seeing that.
I appreciated that they included tomatoes and onions in my bowl, but why no cucumbers or olives? Also, the rice tasted exactly like the microwave variety that I can make at home for much cheaper. The $18 we spent eating here seems high for the quality.
I wanted a cup for water, but when I went to the counter to ask for it, nobody came.
On a positive note, aside from the pop labels, the place was very clean, particularly the bathrooms. I may return again, but will have something other than the...
Read moreWorst restaurant experience I've ever had. The so called souvlaki platter had one skewer after the cashier told us it had the most skewers. It's also the only Greek restaurant that doesn't have pork. I got one little tiny container of tzatziki sauce for our platter and calamari salad. I had to ask for extra. The girl prepping our order didn't understand what we meant by olives on the side. Oh and apparently when you ask for your food to go, you don't get utensils or napkins you have to ask for that too. Payed over twenty dollars for the two tiny little containers of food. One that had hand full calamari and one that had a tiny little skewer of chicken. Couldn't imagine how much drinks would costed. I definitely didn't pay for the cold shoulder customer service that's for sure. Not...
