Thai Express Restaurant Airdrie — Restaurant in Airdrie

We ordered through Door Dash, so we can’t rate the atmosphere or service. The food was terrible. I love authentic Thai food, but the favours didn’t resemble any Thai food, that we’ve eaten. It was more of an oriental fashion, than Thai food. All the vegetables were raw, and the favours were unpleasant.

We ordered 3 dishes. The Thai soup with extra coconut milk was fresh - too fresh. It had a large amount of raw, white onion, cut into large slices, and a bowl full of raw bean sprouts. We ate a few spoonfuls, and threw it away.

The red Thai curry was the best dish of the 3, and the only dish that resembled Thai food. I’d give it 2 1/2 stars. Between 2 or us, we could only eat 1/3 of the dish, and then our stomachs were not doing good.

The third dish was the Shak-a-bowl. I’ve included a picture. We took a small bite. This dish had a very unpleasant flavour, so we threw it away. The price for the 3 dishes, service charges and delivery, was $70.61. Considering we threw almost all of the food away, it was very expensive, and disappointing. I don’t understand the...

I've ordered at this location many times and have never been treated like I was tonight. I've lived with celiac disease for 11 years and always order the same menu item from Thai Express everytime (the number 8, made gluten free, with veggies and no spice). A nice lady made my food and I asked her to confirm that it was made gluten free. The gentleman that took my order then proceeded to yell at me over the counter, telling me I didn't mention I wanted gluten free. I said "yes, that was the first thing I specified." And he Just yelled at me and argued. The lady said "it's okay, I will just remake it" and was very kind and pleasant. The whole time she was remaking my dish, the gentleman just stood there shaking his head at me and telling the lady that I didn't request gluten free. I love Thai express One of my favorite places to go. I will have to say though today i will never go back. I told the person what i wanted and they entered in a different item. I was focusing on getting something else so i didnt check what they put in. Got home and realized this mistake. When i called them back to let them know they said you have to check the display and if you dont it isnt my fault. So please if you go here always get them to read out your order or you will be very disappointed. They didnt care or apologize for their mistake at all. Or offer remediation.
