Angéliques ————————— Date of Visit: 09-11-2021 Party: 2 Time of Arrival: 2:00 pm EST Server: Unknown Manager: husband and wife couple. ————————— Remarks Upon Arrival: Upon arrival, party was asked to screen for COVID-19. Following this, we were seated without delay. A server provided iced water; party was given 1 menu to share per policy that establishment was taking safety measures for the pandemic.
Service & Food Remarks: Party arrived for bruncheon. First, we ordered the combination breakfast and an Eggs Benedict; glasses of milk and water to drink.
The Hollondaise sauce is from a powdered package, seasoned with cayenne pepper. Our home-fries were extremely mushy and over-salted. Upon asking the waitress to remedy, she defended the kitchen by saying that it’s “How we make it.” -Home fries should not be mushy and extremely salty. If we wanted mushy potatoes, we would have ordered mashed potatoes on the side. Seeing that home-fries were not a good option, we opted for French Fries as a replacement. The grill is not cleaned properly, should you order eggs or ham; you will get the burnt leftovers of whatever was cooked before on the food, leaving an unpleasant taste in your mouth and making it extremely greasy.
For a breakfast that costs $35.08 for two people, one would expect decent food and good service. The highest disappointment for our party is that this establishment has high-rated reviews and many good rumours. Perhaps these reviews were bought from a third-party or friends? Upon further research, the other bad reviews of this establishment also reveal the truths hiding behind the “friendly” smiles.
Staff & Remedy Remarks: Good food and good service should not require the intervention of owners or managers. As someone who has been in the industry for over 30 years, I can safely say that Angéliques is not satisfactory in providing a service worth your time or money. After our party asked to speak with the owner, he courteously came to investigate the problem with our breakfast. He personally ensured to remake the big breakfast special himself and apologized. We appreciated his honesty, friendliness and ownace. However, his wife should learn what customer service is.
After leaving the establishment, the owner’s wife came up to us and began harassing us, accusing us of being rude to her staff (we left a $5 tip) and she began to cuss and use abusive language towards us, following us to our car in the parking lot. We made no effort to offend personally, when all we did was provide legitimate criticisms. Her childish behaviour and anger only further validates my reasons to not return and not recommend this establishment. If you cannot take criticism as an owner of a restaurant, then you should not be in this industry. Perhaps anger management classes would also be of benefit.

Read moreAbsolutely amazing! I chose to come to this restaurant on Saturday October 12th 2024 with my wonder girlfriend based off of a quick search for the “best breakfast” restaurant and immediately Angelique’s showed up so we thought we would give it a try. Immediately as we pulled into the parking lot we noticed a line of people waiting to get inside (which is a great sign!!) we waited about 20 mins to get in and immediately when we entered we were pleasantly surprised to see a very charming and country breakfast diner atmosphere with beautiful decor. I’m a cook myself and I could immediately tell that this would be a great experience….I could just feel it by seeing the way the employees were dedicated to what they were doing and the happy faces on the employees as well as the customers. We had an absolutely amazing waitress by the name of Lloydian and I could stress enough how amazing she was! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and her top notch customer service was stunning to say the least. I ordered the extra large combo and my wife ordered the spinach omelet. When the food came to the table I could immediately tell that whoever was doing the cooking seriously knew how to cook authentic country breakfasts!! Not only were the meals huge but the quality of the food was superior!! I could not recommend this place enough! Also I must add that the prices are amazing and you get so much for your money!! I am from the states and I have been to countless breakfast restaurants but this one ranks in the top 3 that I’ve ever been to!!! I will make a trip all the way from Arizona just to eat here!!! lol I will include pics of our breakfast along with this review! Thank you Canada for offering such an amazing place to have breakfast at!!! Full menu pics are included with this review! Prices are as of...

It doesn't have any of the traditional Greek decor and is a simple, relatively clean and would pass for any average diner. You must pay attention to all the specials boards...as per our great server, Lloydian...some of their best inventions live there. The boards are more lunch fare while the menu has there breakfast offerings.
I had the mac'n cheese. Good taste but a little flat for me. A little s&p, vinegar and hot sauce...woke all that background taste right up. I understand that one must cook for the masses. I would order it again in a second. The accompanying garlic toast points were a little tough given the bread choice... again, some are going to prefer that.
Kim ordered the burger melt with bacon and fries as a side. The burger is juicy enough to cause a very messy shirt. You have been warned. The fries were standard size, clearly blanched then fried to our requested extra crispy doneness. Kim won the best order competition today. The fries, and side of clearly from a box gravy, took both of us back to our highschool days when fries and gravy were a daily occurrence. Exactly how diner fries and gravy should be...That combination was a 5!
In short, Angelique's is a great example of a family diner where the staff seem friendly and competent and the food is exactly as it should be.
We will return and update you further. I always like to give give establishments a second chance to win my elusive 5th star...I am a bit stingy. You gotta really earn that from me.
Cheers and many thanks to Lloydian and her coworkers for a...
