Severely Declined Quality - Very Disappointing for a Long-Time Fan
I am writing this review as a very disappointed, long-time KFC fan. For years, this has been my go-to spot for fast food. However, the quality of the whole chicken from this Ajax, Ontario location has severely declined over the last few months, culminating in three terrible orders recently.
In my last three purchases of whole chicken, the quality has been consistently awful. The chicken pieces are often unrecognizable, the breading is uneven or completely missing in spots, and some pieces are excessively oily. The chicken even looks mishandled, with the fibers appearing broken or "beaten." This is a stark contrast to the quality I experienced just 3-6 months ago, which was quite decent. I even managed to convert family members from Popeyes to KFC! Now, the quality is so poor – frankly, it's disgusting and not worth the money. I recently had to throw out almost a third of an 18-piece bucket due to these issues.
I've also noticed a significant staff turnover at this location, which makes me wonder if there are issues with training or quality control. It's truly disheartening to see such a decline at a place I used to enjoy so much.
I sincerely hope that management at this Ajax location takes this feedback seriously and takes immediate steps to improve the quality of their food and potentially review their training and quality control processes. Read moreWorst KFC experience in my life and I used to manage KFC stores. I would avoid this store at ALL costs. Placed 2 small online orders. Went to pu and found only drive-thru open and had to wait behind 8 cars to get order. Spent 20 mins in line just to pu. Explained I didn’t want old chicken and old fries since my order would have been sitting for 30 mins+ cuz having to wait in line. They offered what was supposed to be fresh chicken only to find it was not dark meat but they changed it to white meat making it seem it was fresh, but it wasn’t. Then was told it would only be 5 mins for fresh chicken/fries. Waited at front parking lot 20 mins. Was to be two orders but they decided without asking to put both in one box. Was on my way to work and dropping other order to friend. I now had to go home and repack so I could take mine to work or wait another 10 mins for them to put in two boxes. Not even napkins with greasy chicken/fries. My FAST food order took 50 mins in total to get. Staff were rude and lied to try to give me old food when they said it was fresh. NEVER go to this store. Something is def wrong with this kfc location. The chicken always tastes odd. I don't know what the deal is but it does not taste like the other kfc locations. The flavor is lacking and sometimes has a weird chemical type weird taste. Sucks cuz they open late but I won't be coming back to this location. I think I need to call kfc about this.
The customer service is a 4 out of 5 because they got nice and friendly people working there. But what really brings the rating down for me is the fact KFC has jacked up the prices BiG time and have made the chicken SO small now. They cut the thighs in half! So basically we are paying more, for example a 12 piece with large fry and gravy use to be 18.99 with standard proper size pieces now its 24.99 and with much smaller pieces! KFC is ripping us off. I feel bad because i have to demand that the pieces are proper size or at least throw in extra pieces to make up for it and they usually do but still sometimes i end up getting ripped off.
