It was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered takeout over the phone and after the call, they texted me directly after to let me know how long it would take. Since it was a Saturday night, my takeout order would take about 40min. I ordered the family feast dinner, which included 8 souvlaki sticks, a large Greek salad, a large lemon potatoes, rice and fresh house made tzatziki and pita. We also decided to order a large rice on the side. The Chicken Skewers were delicious, so fresh and marinated so well. The Greek Salad was a bit small for large, but it was pretty good. The Lemon Potatoes were well cooked but were a tad bland for my taste The Rice was my least favourite, it was pretty hard and not enjoyable. Lastly, I was pretty surprised to see the pita was actually cut up into squares, it was an interesting change from what I'm used, but still pretty good. For the amount of food we got, it was pretty worth it, I wish they gave a bit more salad though ( it was only enough for 2 people ). Our bill came out to around $60 after tax and was enough for a family of 4 adults and we still had half a portion left over the next day. They staff were so kind and friendly as well. Overall a pretty good experience.

The greek freak has been my go to restaurant for years but unfortunately the past couple times i’ve ordered from here has been super disappointing and inconsistent :( for context, I usually order the veggie wrap with greek feta fries. The fries lately have been incredibly stale, undercooked and dry, which isn’t helped by the fact that they came twice with the lemon juice missing (pictured below) and another time they were literally just a box of regular fries without any toppings at all. Also, today I got the saddest looking pita I’ve ever seen, with only 1 tomato, 2 thin cucumber slices and a small bit of onion and lettuce. Like come on y’all I’m already paying $11 for a wrap with vegetables only (no hummus or falafel options unfortunately) so fill her up!! I keep tryna convince myself it’s a one off bc i love this place so much but literally every single order I've gotten in the past 2 months has had some kind of mistake and i can’t take it anymoreeee. PLS get it together 🙏🙏 3 stars mainly because when the food does hit it's *chefs kiss*. will update my rating if I order again in the future 🫶

Delicious food, pleasant staff, and conveniently located, I’m so glad I discovered Greek Freak by accident during a Google search for food close the highway on my way home one day. All the food is very flavourful, it is incredibly easy to call or order online (I have done both), and the portions are excellent. After ordering a few times on my way east, I decided to order a feast from the Greek Freak for my family’s Thanksgiving dinner this year. My mother had just gotten out of hospital and had a very restricted list of what she could eat. Having enjoyed the food in the past, I knew it would be a hit. Everyone loved and enjoyed each of the items I ordered. This included a freak wrap, both the chicken and pork skewers, the rice, salad, pita and of course the potatoes, which are to die for! My family still fondly talks about that meal when we visit, and I have brought over various items I have ordered since. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in what I consider to be the best Greek food I have ever enjoyed.

I have been ordering from this restaurant for at least the last three years. Myself and my colleagues would order every Monday. It was THAT good. I could feed my entire neighbourhood with the number of containers I have from the Lite Meals we would order (one stick and a small Greek salad).

Never a complaint…until recently. I would say over the last couple of months, the quality of the food has changed and unfortunately, not for the better.

Salad - the salads have consistently had brown soggy lettuce and only about 3 olives. The tomatoes are not as crisp and fresh. This is a change from previous. They also now have less cheese and less salad overall.

The pita - it seemed previously that the pita may have been warmed as they were very fresh/soft. Now, it’s as though they are taken out of a fridge and (sloppily) cut and placed in the container. They are ice cold.

The meat - I usually get the pork, but have had the chicken as well. My feedback is the same for both. Although the flavour is (kind of) the same, it is overcooked and as a result of that…very tough.

We have noticed this change over the last several orders, but continued to order, thinking it was an off week or something…and that it would get better. We maintained hope because of our love for the food previously. At this point we are all disappointed and sadly will have to look for a Monday lunch spot.

To the owners: Whatever has changed, has not been well received. I have noticed that there are similar reviews to mine. I hope you can take heed to the feedback and really improve to win back your...

I love the food! Went here for lunch as I’ve been craving some really good Greek food lately. There aren’t really any places like this in the Durham Region so I’m glad these guys are here. The pita sandwiches are excellent. The meat is tender with just enough saltiness. Very hearty and very satisfying. The Greek Fries are excellent. Crispy and golden with a great amount of oil and a generous helping of feta on top.

I’ve seen a lot of other reviews on here about wait times. Granted there’s a little longer of a wait than what people I think expect in this day and age but when the food is this good, I don’t mind waiting at all. Good quality food beats fast service every time. These guys took the care to get everything right and I appreciate that more than anything. It’s also important to know that these guys have only been open for about a month, so I understand that there are probably a lot of challenges when running a new business, let alone in the food industry, that sometimes need to get ironed out “on the fly”.

All in all, I’ll be back and I hope this place is here to stay!

UPDATE (August 20, 2020)

Still the best Greek food in town and they have greatly improved on their wait times for orders. Like I said before, quality food beats fast service every time and now that they’ve become even more efficient, it just makes it that much better when you’re chowing down on their dishes. Thanks, Greek Freak, for still...

This was our first time ordering from the Ajax location. We ordered Chicken souvlaki dinners. The portions were large and online ordering was very easy We received everything we ordered with no errors. The chicken was tender and flavourful. A few issues we had were the very soggy fries, dry rice, and charred pitas. In addition to the rice being dry, it had corn and peas in it. Not much but a few, not visible in the online photo and not what I prefer. The lettuce and onions in our salads were not fresh and were looking translucent.A sign they are on their last days. The Greek dressing was really tangy and the tsaziki lacked garlic flavour. I really look forward to a nice garlicky Tsaziki so this was disappointing.

Lastly, some of the salad dressing spilled in the bag after pick up. I would recommend finding a way to firmly secure the lids prior to placing them in a takeout bag and perhaps placing them in a small paper bag inside the large bag. Definitely not a horrible meal but certainly not the best. We will not be ordering from here again. Not a good first impression.

I’m sure running a business in a pandemic is no easy feat but don’t you want repeat customers? The quality was certainly compromised in this order although I paid full price for a...
