We had been busy all day working and were quite late to realize dinner time had passed, it was 9:30 already, so we decided to go to a local drive through and get takeout. We arrived at the Taco Bell drive through at around 9:45. The line up was very slow, but we had no choice but to wait as there were cars in front and behind us. Just before the car ahead of us pulled up to the speaker, all of the lights went out. This wasn't the first time we'd found this drive through in the dark as they often forget to turn on the lights or turn them off by accident. The car ahead placed their order and we drove up to place ours, the voice gave us the usual welcome and 'can I take your order' and my husband asked if they could turn on the lights so that we could see the menu. She said they were closed. My husband said, we've been in the line up for 15 minutes, but she stopped responding. The car in front got their order and we got to the window and the girl said it wasn't her fault, her manager told her not to serve us. My husband reasoned that we had been in the line well before 10 pm AND asked it they would treat us the same if we were in the store line up. NO she said, they would serve us. After disputing their poor customer service, and the manager asking us why we hadn't reversed out of the line up??? She still refused to serve us and said they'd been meaning to deal with blocking the drive through once they were closed - but even then we would still have been in the line up since we arrived before they were closed. We have had issues with this particular location over the years, wrong orders and inconsistency in the way they prepare the food - sometimes missing items and sometimes way too hot and as I said before, often having to ask them to turn the lights on so we can read the menu. We won't be going back, it's not the best food to begin with and there are lots of other places in town that deserve our money more than this branch does. UPDATE - So it's been 11 months or so, since this incident at Ajax Taco Bell - the manager contacted me after this and gave me a sincere apology and told me that he would leave a $20 credit at the store for me. I didn't bother to take him up on his offer, I just didn't want to go back there at that point Since it's been almost a year, I decided to give them another chance, so went there recently. My husband and I drove up 15 minutes before closing time and the drive through was closed up, light off and no one manning the window. We drove around and tried to walk into the store and the doors were locked, staff were still inside, the 'open' light was still turned on. This is the final straw - if you say you're open till a certain time, you should be serving food until that time - not close up 15 minutes early so you can get out of work early. I won't be using this location ever again. This store has proven once more that it is not reliable, in opening times and in food quality and consistency. My advice to anyone who asks is: Spend your money somewhere else, the staff here do not seem to respect...
Read moreGoogle keeps asking me to review Taco Bell so here goes...I was planning to surprise the wife and take her here for our 10 year wedding anniversary, so I thought I would take no chances and call 5 days in advance for a reservation. To my surprise the kind gentleman that answered the phone politely told me a reservation wasn't needed and that he would ensure I was seated right away when I arrived. I was shocked and yet somewhat sceptical of what he just told me. Not willing to take any chances I called 3 days in advance and was told the same thing! I couldn't believe the level of service I was receiving. Both individuals told me I would be seated right away without waiting, it was unbelievable.
Now it's the day of our anniversary. We both get dressed up and we proceed to make our way to this fine restaurant. To tell you the truth I was still nervous about the no reservation thing and my wife knew something was up, she noticed I was visably shaken. She kept asking me what was going on and to tell her what was wrong. I didn't want to tell her anything to ruin the surprise but she kept pressing me and pressing me.. I couldn't take it any longer so I fessed up....I held her hand softly, looked into her eyes and told her I was taking her to Taco Bell for an evening of the most exquisite Mexican cuisine she had ever experienced. She was speechless to say the least. She didn't say one word while we continued our drive (which for her is quite amazing)
We finally get to the restaurant and much to my delight the 2 people I spoke with earlier were absolutely right!! We were seated right away and the food arrived within minutes after ordering from the waiter/cashier. Never have I received such service from a restaurant. I was floored. At one point during our meal my wife looked up at me with tears of joy rolling down her cheek and softly asked "is this how much I mean to you?". While biting down on my 7th Taco (she was still on #1 btw) I looked back into her eyes and said "yes, only the best for my little ladybug" and proceeded to offer up some of my nachos. She respectively declined. We finished our meal and head back home. She was still speechless and was quiet the entire ride. A perfect end to a perfect evening.
We're now divorced...I moved back with my parents, lost my house and nearly lost all of my possessions. Was it all worth it you ask? Was my marriage worth losing over Taco bell tacos? Yes....
Read morePlace has gone downhill! This used to be a really good location for Taco Bell/KFC. Service used to be fast and food was so tasty. It was also a friendly place and you could see how it functioned well. Good managers and staff cared about how they treated and behaved in front of customers.
Came in on Friday afternoon to a dead location, no customers just staff. One tall brown guy was standing behind the cash looked at me and just kept on talking to the cashier. He casually walked into the dining area then back behind the cash to talk to the cashier again. All the while no one was taking my order. The cashier? She had her back turned and even saw me but didn't want to ask me for my order. I actually asked if he was the owner because he was walking around the restaurant like he had nothing to do.
The dining room was spotless, I'm sure because no one comes here :)
They completely jumbled my order because the tall brown guy just didn't care what was going on. He walked behind the middle food prep area and was texting on his phone. He casually walks back to the line and starts expediting food at will. We called ahead to make sure the chicken would be ready but 35 mins later we got our food. Came home to realize the expediter had given us double chicken because he didn't pay attention. It would have been a good mistake for us except for the fact the chicken had absolutely no taste, no seasoning. Chicken is not that hard to screw up, unless your skimping on ingredients.
This place has fallen so far. I'll never come back here. I'll gladly visit another KFC/Taco Bell from now on. Train your staff, you have cameras on them all the time...
