A&W Canada — Restaurant in Alberta

We visited the drive though window tonight placed our order and advised the employee that we had a coupon and what it was for. We get to the window and some dirty scissors are shoved in our face and we’re told to cut out the coupon. As this is the time of Covid we declined and I hurriedly tore out the coupon not realizing that it was the wrong one. We then paid - we’re not even a receipt and we’re provided with our food. Upon driving out we realized we were overcharged so I went back to asking why we were charged too much. I started speaking to the male employee who served us at the window, however he ignored me and walked away. I then addressed the female employee who seemed to be paying a bit more attention who then went and produced the bill and informed me that actually based in the coupon that I was given a discount. I then explained in my haste I grabbed the wrong one and I could get the correct one for them. I was told that it was impossible to apply the correct discount now as they’d have to refund the amount and recharge it and they got in trouble with the owner last time that was done. I said I was surprised at the lack of service and left. My wife and I also commented to ourselves regarding the poor repair the building seems to be in with pealing paint and partially sprayed repairs. After dining there with my family one evening about a month ago I will NEVER buy food from this particular A&W again. The floors were riddled with stomped food, the tables were filthy, the condiment and utensil station was filled with garbage and there were no straws left. There were two cleaning carts half-hazardly placed randomly in the dining room. Two crew members were seen sitting in the dining room fully clothed which seemed to be the end of their shift because I saw them leave half way through my meal. When I worked fast food as a young adult we had to make sure the dining room was always clean for our guests, we made sure to cover up our uniform when eating or taking a break in the dining room so as not to leave a bad impression. If the dining room is any indication of what happens in the kitchen I can imagine it's a complete cesspool of trash and a disgusting place to be. I'll be eating at and ordering out from the A&W at the Petro Canada on hwy 2 at the Aldersyde...

I really enjoy dining at A+W in general. Until I visited this location. It wasn't busy in the drive though or dinning area. Yet every table was filthy. They did me a HUGE FAVOR by giving me a coffee refill (this isn't an issue with the other A+Ws that I visit). I didn't get the receipt from my previous order. So when I asked for the store # for my compliant. I was told it was none of my business. I asked to speak to a manager. But spoke to someone who pretended to be a manager instead. I was then told several insulting lies, that a child wouldn't have believed, by this "manager." I left a message for the real manager to call which still hasn't happened. In the meantime my brother ordered 2 Mama burger combos. But had to negotiate with front counter staff in order to obtain the receipt.
