I'm really surprised that I didn't love this pizza. Everyone raves about it and they've won "best pizza" for many years, but honestly, it just wasn't anything special. The sauce isn't tangy, vibrant or special. The dough is definitely fresh, but I thought it had a floury/yeast taste to it. The meat is good quality and it seemed to be real cheese, so that's a nice bonus but it just didn't come together into something really delicious. I found it quite similar to the Sobeys pizza that you can take home and cook yourself. So... It's good, but it's not something to write home about and that's what I was expecting based on other people's recommendations. My wife repeatedly used the word "bland". I'll try it again sometime and see if I just got an off day. I really hope to find that they can live up to their other reviews. I should add that this place is best suited for pickup or delivery. I nownrecall going there a year ago and we had to leave (with impatient little kids) because they just don't have the staff to keep up with...
Read moreI was visiting in Okotoks and found this little pizza place. To be honest it didn't need more the first time but I have to admit the second time was even better. Because they put even more toppings and cheese. The one mistake they made was on the Ring of Fire Pizza which I have had twice, I don't mind when they put more toppings on but they have to be consistent with the hot peppers. The first time was perfect the second time with overload and if it wasn't for the extra hot peppers I would be able to say the pizza gets better every time I order it. Unfortunately I'm not out there that often. I wish they had one of these where I live. If not for having to dissect my pizza I would easily be able to say it's the best I've ever had. Do not order the ring of fire unless you like really hot stuff. You might luck out and get it...
Read moreThe food was great except for the caesar dressing... it was really runny. They tried to charge me extra for delivery. First they tried to force me to use Skip the Dishes... I told them that wasn’t happening. They actually use Okotoks Delivery (they are AMAZING by the way but I was confused about the Skip the Dishes plug on their part) who charges a $5 flat rate but Pizzaberg Cafe charges $6 for delivery through them. Customers think that the delivery people are keeping the extra $1 each time but Pizzaberg is actually charging Okotoks Delivery an extra $1 on top of the regular price each time they pick up (they claim it is to pay fees for their debit machines). Just tell them you are picking up and call Okotoks Delivery instead of ordering delivery, or you will be paying extra...
