We drove 1.5 hours to get to Stettler, AB to try The Town Pump. We were salivating thinking about diving into a Clubhouse and fries and my wife was thinking about a burger and fries since we don't eat those items frequently. When we got to the restaurant, it was busy and there was only one server. We sat down at a dirty table and waited for about 10 minutes for service but it didn't come so we left. We went to Anaiah's just down the street because I'm diabetic and needed to eat quickly. We've driven past Anaiah's many times but for some reason, it didn't really draw us in. Maybe "curb appeal" wasn't working for us. But, when we got inside, the restaurant was very clean, we were greeted immediately with a broad smile from one of the servers and seated. She immediately took our order for something to drink and returned within 2 minutes with the same. She took our order at that time and within 5 minutes we were actually eating hot and delicious food. I am 70 and the household cook so I am always, very fussy about my food particularly steak, burgers and bacon. Nothing disturbs me more than bacon that is essentially uncooked properly and rubbery. Worse, bacon that is brittle is unpalatable. My clubhouse was outstanding! Chunks of fresh turkey, fresh tomatoes, fresh lettuce and bacon. The bacon was perfect. Firm, not brittle, not rubbery or partially cooked - perfect. The toast was done perfectly and on the plate, the sandwich and the accompanying fires, which seemed to be double fried, were crispy but soft in the centre. My wife's burger was hand formed and she said it was delicious as well. She never finishes a burger when she eats one but she finished this one. All-in-all, we were so fortunate to have had a bad experience at Town Pump just so we could have an outstanding experience at Anaiah's. We had several servers cruising the restaurant looking for things to clear up or refill the whole time we were there and all were very warm and genuinely accommodating. Anaiah's is now our go to for all things food wise while we are in Stettler and we will of course share our experience within our circle. Hopefully people reviewing this review will get a better idea of what Anaiah's is like vs just driving by. Thank you Anaiah's, we'll be...
Read moreExecutive summary: wonderful, friendly service, tasty fresh food, spotlessly clean, and very affordable. If you're in Stettler, go here.
The details: What a real unexpected treat. Stettler had been a bit of a let down so our expectations were pretty low when we rolled into Anaiah's at 8:15pm when their posted closing time is 8:30pm.
We were expecting to be turned away but instead were welcomed with a huge smile and directed to a table in the spotless restaurant.
The menu had pretty standard family restaurant type fare (beef dip, clubhouse sandwich, fish & chips) but there were a few surprises like a Montecristo sándwich, which is pretty tough to find these days.
The back page of the menu had another surprise: Filipino food! Now I'm not Filipino but was pretty stoked to see a page dedicated to it. Be honest, when's the last time you saw a Filipino restaurant or Pinoy...
Read moreWhat a lovely restaurant here in the middle of the Heart of Alberta! Do not be shy! Go on in and you'll be welcomed by such friendly servers waiting to seat you. Wheelchairs may require assistance however. A ramp should be installed for them. The menu is full of great selections! So much variety I had a tough time choosing! The prices were so reasonable! What hit me home though was the all-day breakfast menu! I enjoyed it so much I had to come back and do it again! They have Smitty's beat! If you're going for breakfast food and can't decide...go with Anaiah's! Also will have to try their own Filipino cuisine in the future. I did have their roast beef dinner which was exceptional! It doesn't have to be fancy in order to become a 5-star restaurant! Quality service, good pricing, food, staff friendliness and speed were key elements that make this place...
