I'll be honest, we were skeptical when we first walked in. It's in an industrial warehouse setting with a rec-room vibe that has tables between virtual golf simulators. Despite this, we were passing through and needed some good food- and reviews said this was the place! We are all very glad we stuck to it because this place is a hidden gem that needs to be exposed! The view is great once you turn around and can't see any industrial area from the windows (unfortunately we were downstairs due to renos- but oh well). The prices seemed a bit scary at first but once you order, you'll realize it is all 100% worth it. The food has over generous portions and the quality is to die for. My crew had 6 different orders from the crush burger to the Fundito and taco salad and we were blown away by how good it was. They make everything by hand (minus growing the veggies) and we ended up sharing most of our food because it is all phenominal! Ill say again- the food is to die for and we're still sitting here wondering if we can fit seconds, but due to the portions, we don't think it'll work. These guys are seriously a hidden gem and I hope this review will help keep them here till we come back through on our next trip!

Discombobulatingly good. Google hides my reviews if they are to wordy or technical so I'll try to keep this simple: you can tell everything about a restaurant by the ingredients and care put into the dishes but a reviewer can't tell you anything except whether a restaurant should be worth your effort. I could go on and on about my meal, but instead I truly want you to go and enjoy your own. Go to Finchy's. Try Finchy's. Be amazed. Luckily, I had Dallas the GM serve me so I got more than just the Menu's briefing about the food; I got some of the history and pedigree of what went into the whole endeavor. With restaurants, it is easy to please but hard to impress and Finchy's was hitting on all cylinders: Great friendly service, great specials, great food, great support of local businesses, great concept, great atmosphere. If you're a local you probably know this somewhat hidden jewel already, but if you're going to Canmore then you MUST check this place out. Ask for Dallas and tell him Jason sent you, because Craig at the greenhouse sent me. Oh, I'm sorry not sorry about my photography skills.

CanGolf is an amazing place to eat, drink, and, oh ya, golf! The simulators take a bit to learn how to play as they play very close to the real thing. Bad shots are bad shots all day! The odd birdie is available! Choice of courses and difficulty levels are numerous and adjustable to any skill level. We played At Andrews and Pebble Beach. Jack was awesome at getting us setup, giving tips for using the computer in-game and answering questions including dumb ones. Serving staff was there to keep bevvies flowing. Food menu has a nice variety of pub food. They serve local craft beer and local distillery selections for cocktails. You will need to book reservations for weekend rounds - we played 18 holes - full four round! Generally, you can book by the hour. Saw all kinds of golf abilities and kids are welcome too. Clubs can be rented or bring your own sticks! Lessons are available as well. Great way to spend an afternoon!

When we came in on a late evening of Aug 18th there was maybe 2-3 other tables. Didn’t seem busy but within 30-45 min the place filled right up to the point where they didn’t have any tables available for brief period of time. The dining area is quite a modern and relaxed ambiance.

Guy with black hair in a pony tail. Thank you for caring about customer service. I ordered a dish that was new to me and I didn’t really like it as it’s not what I expected. Not a fault of the restaurant at all. I had one bite of it. He took it off the bill and I didn’t even ask this of him which was extremely kind and it’s something that I respect. He asked me what I didn’t like about it and I gave my honest feedback and expectation. He seemed genuinely interested. I didn’t feel like I was being judged or that I was looking to get free food which was not the case at all. So thank you for the genuine interaction.

Virtual golf was awesome. We were checked on just enough times not to interrupt the game but at the same time to check if we needed anything (drinks or assistance with the program). Server brought us water without being asked.

If I am in the area again I...
