Table is a restaurant in the Coast Canmore Hotel. I find if you're heading to hotel dining experience, you are either in for a very dynamic high end experience or a generic "box" service that you'd find in any hotel. I found Table to be closer to the latter. The atmosphere is lovely...it feels like you're in a hotel dining room. It is somewhat more modern in decor. The food offerings are great...nothing extraordinary in their offering. Lastly, the service was average. With so many incredible dining establishments in the Canmore and Banff areas, I wondered why I was so easily able to get a table at Table. It was also pretty empty on this night. It feels like they are here only to fill the space in the Coast. I hope they can find a way to kick up their innovation and service up a notch. There is a need for more creative dining in Canmore. But otherwise, it was good service and food overall. Just nothing out of the ordinary.

The restaurant is located in the Coast Canmore Hotel! We loved the food, staff and the atmosphere! Had lunch, twice breakfast and New Year Eve dinner! Each time the food was delicious! Had the carrot soup for lunch service which was very tasty and the fish and chips, the best fish I had in a long time! The breakfast buffet was good - it's buffet after all, but ok for the $16CAD - bacon, sausage, pancakes, potatoes, oatmeal, yogurt, fruits and variety of pastry! Also had steak and eggs which was great, ordered medium rare and it was perfect! Staff was always friendly and accommodating! Ayla served us couple times and went above and beyond each time! She was very respectful, kind, sweet, friendly and also helped us get reservations for NYE dinner at the last minute and we're glad we got to experience it! The food was amazing!!!! See the menu in the pictures! Highly recommend the restaurant even if you don't stay at the hotel!

Can’t complain about the food and experience here. Service was very professional and prompt. Food was priced reasonably and had a very “from scratch” taste. We went for both breakfast and happy hour drinks/snacks as we stayed at the coast hotel and the restaurant location was very convenient. The breakfast buffet had sausage, bacon, hash browns, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, fruit salad and granola for $16. I think that is a fair price. For a more custom breakfast the options were again, fairly priced and delicious. Hollandaise sauce had a very nice lemony homemade taste to it. They are very accommodating with gluten free options. The smoked carrot coconut soup was very delicious and seemed to be made fresh as well. happy hour beverages were great and cost-effective. The ambience was nice, modern and clean. Would return to this restaurant for sure!

My boyfriend and I were staying at the hotel for a conference and decided to go for a dinner to celebrate his birthday. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we waited 5-8 minutes for someone to seat us, the server asked if we had reservations and we didn't. She looked at her watch and said "We're all full tonight." And we were ready to leave but she said we could stay "as long as we were done by 7:30pm"... It was ~5:30pm... We both got that feeling like maybe we should go somewhere else but decided to stick it out. It wasn't going to take us TWO hours to eat a meal, but then we found out why it was a big deal...

Not only did the server take FOREVER to ask us what we wanted for drinks, but also when it came time to order she was nowhere to be seen. The restaurant was NOT busy at this time, there was probably

If you’re hungry I would suggest you go anywhere else. The restaurant was not even a quarter full but the waiter blamed the bad food and poor service on a busy restaurant. My husband ordered the Canmore Pasta, he said it lacked flavour and the meat was chewy with large pieces of fat. His dish was also 20 minutes later than the rest of the meals. No comp was offered. My mother ordered the seafood dish (which is what the 10 year old also wanted) the waiter said there was only one available but was large enough for them to share. It was not. 2 pieces of shrimp, 2 mussels, no clams, 1 small piece of salmon, one mediocre overcooked lobster tail. She is a small woman who doesn’t eat much and left hungry. Our son ordered the mussels, he said they were good. I ordered the small charcuterie board which the waiter assured me was enough for 4 people to comfortably share. It came with 4 pieces of deli meat, 3 pieces of cheese, 5 different pickled items (3 small pieces of each) and some baguette pieces that were hard enough to be a doorstop.

My husband brought up his concerns to the waiter and asked to speak to the manager. He was told that there was no manager on tonight and told that the kitchen was slow and lacking because of a wedding. He then handed him the bill with an 18% gratuity added that was no where one the menu stating it was a mandatory add on.

After 12 hours of travel we expected a decent meal. Instead we’re met with unimaginably slow service (waited 15 minutes to see our waiter, 15 minutes to come back for drinks, 15 more to come take our order), food that was lacklustre at best and a $198 bill.

Update.

While continuing on our journey home my husband had to pull over to get sick on the side of...

Restaurant experience since all restrictions dropped is nothing but one disappointment after another. Table Food + Drink is no exception.

I ordered the Cioppino: Fresh Salmon + Lobster Tail + Mussels + Clams + Shrimp + Kalamata Olives + Aromatic Saffron Garlic Tomato Broth + Grilled Artisan Baguette.

Sounds delicious right?

  1. Definitely NOT fresh salmon. It was frozen fresh, but not fresh as the menu suggested.
  2. Lobster Tail was cut in half. Misleading because your expecting (((A LOBSTER TAIL))). Not half of an exceptionally small tail.
  3. Mussels, which you get two of, but let me be clear: I had two mussel SHELLS but only 1 had the dime sized meat.
  4. Clams, two but one of them didn't open so I certainly wasn't going to open it.
  5. Shrimp, two small shrimp like you might get in a shrimp fried rice dish.
  6. Kalamata Olives, were 100% NOT kalamata olives!! If your out, fine. But say so!!
  7. Grilled Artisan Baguette is what I was expecting to get. Not a THIN slice of toaster toasted bread of some sort. I ended up ordering an actual baguette (not artisan, and not grilled) because the meal was so...anemic. BTW, they don't make the bread in-house.
  8. Tomato Sauce was canned, not in-house

Also, mashed potatoes are not made from potatoes. They're made from a box!! Seriously, they're instant mashed potatoes lol!! I asked before decided what I was going to order lolol!!!

I mean, I'm happy that others who rated this place enjoyed theirs meals. I'd hate for them to feel the disappointment I felt having eat this food, then paying for it.

One star. No redemption for you, not...
