Thank you Edo Japan High River for a wonderful lunch! The other day my friend and I went to our local Edo for lunch and decided to dine in this time! We normally always order online and have a Tofu Bento Box with 4 spring rolls as well as sticky rice, veggies, and tofu with teriyaki sauce, which always exceed our expectations and have extra teriyaki! But since we were in the area we decided to try out a lunch. Upon our arrival the restaurant had a lovely smell of sesame as well as a clean, calm atmosphere and adequate air conditioning! The cashier that served us was a very kind man and although I never got his name he was very happy to help us out! He showed us the latest Chicken Teriyaki Poke Bowl meal and after informing him that we were vegetarians his colleague and him were very happy to substitute it with Tofu for us at no extra cost! He was very understanding as he was also a vegetarian himself and it was no hassle to get vegetarian options added to our order! We also had 2 vegetable spring rolls on the side which were very hot and fresh! And we had plum sauce too. The Tofu Teriyaki Poke Bowls were awesome! Packed full of veggies and sticky rice and big portions of Tofu and sliced avocadoes! We enjoyed them so much and will always return to our local Edo! We also ordered a Bottled Root Beer which wasn't watered down and it was kept refrigerated! I'd also like to Mention that Edo now has an app that you can earn points on and even though I had never heard of it or used it the Team was very patient and guided me through downloading and making an account on the app while respecting my private details. They even said that I could pay after downloading the app so I would be able to gain my first points at the restaurant! After making my account and scanning my barcode just before paying, I was able to earn points and get $3 off my next order! The cashier showed us that the points are also printed on the receipt in case we missed it on the app! I'd highly recommend this Edo location and we have never been disappointed with the food, restaurant, or staff. Thank you High River Team...
Read moreALWAYS CHECK YOUR TAKE OUT BAG before you leave the restaurant to make sure your order is all there - I didn't and mine was missing half the order. Went to the rodeo grounds (15 minutes away) to share and had to go back. Not a happy customer. Received friendly customer service from Sunkent - he apologized and made the order right - even adding a fountain pop & a couple extra Spring Rolls. We ordered the 16 piece Sushi (has California, Dynamite, Tiger and Volcano Rolls). It's got some nice mild heat. We like to dip sushi in a Wasabi and Soya Sauce mixture, adding a little more heat. The Kid's Sushi had 3 Cucumber, 3 Avocado & 4 California rolls, plus juice & dessert. It's a nice portion for kids or seniors. The Tempura Sprimp was crunchy and a favourite. Edo Japan is fast food sushi. Each time you visit, you may get different prepped food by whoever is on that shift. Sometimes the sushi is tightly rolled and sometimes it is just seaweed and rice. Every now and then, when you are at a rodeo, like the Guy Weadick Rodeo in High River, you don't want a burger but something different. We now know to go to and try family owned - Golden National Chinese or P&H Family Restaurant Vietnamese or Ka-Sushi. Shop local and...
Read moreThe rice was undercooked. The "Avocado roll" had a sliver (2mm slice) of avocado, and a whole lot of rice, plus it was falling apart. The dynamite roll had a sliver of cucumber and avocado; it should have been called a shrimp tempura roll with lot of rice. The chicken teriyaki barely had any chicken or vegetables on top of the rice, and barely had any sauce. They used medium sized chunks of sea salt in the edamame, instead of ground salt. Apparently, the cauliflower rice was okay. The soya sauce is Chinese. The wasabi is not real wasabi. Basically, it was cheap and terrible. This is not Japanese food. We will not...
