My boyfriend and I went to this Starbucks for breakfast before our trip back home. There were two baristas working at the time. One was very kind, the other not so much.
The coffee machine broke, the barista was livid, and started yelling and cussing in front of myself and all the customers. The other barista seemed taken back by this.
After we sat down, the barista’s friend came in and they were talking poorly about other team members. They stood and talked over the counter for a while. The other barista was working. They were talking very loudly and inappropriately. all of the customers could hear the conversation.
I ordered a bagel and an iced coffee. The bagel was fine but the coffee tasted old and like it was just a cup of iced milk. I politely asked for a new drink or a refund. The manager came out and was very pleasant. She told the girls to make me a new drink without charging me the difference. After the manager left, the rude barista began to make my drink while talking under her breath to the other barista about me. She said “why can’t people just be happy”. When the barista handed me my new drink she said “here’s your drink, I make this everyday so there shouldn’t be another issue” in a very snarly tone. As a walked away she continued to talk to me. She said again “I hope you enjoy your drink, hopefully there’s no problem this time” in an unprofessional tone. I could tell she was being sarcastic with me.
They made me a caramel macchiato the second time. It was a cup of hot milk. The coffee has no flavour. You are paying high prices for just a glass of warm milk. We didn’t expect this kind of service in such a beautiful town, especially from a Starbucks which usually provides great...
Read moreSave your money dont go here I really wanted to give this place a good review. Such a cute shop. The service was pleasant no problems with that.
It's the food.... it's overpriced and its not delicious (if someone says it is they need to up their taste standard in food or maybe they've never been to a good restaurant 🤷♀️ haha)
We got muffins, smoothies & snacks. First- the muffins were extremely dry and required a drink to eat it. Second- you pay $12 for a smoothie but what it really is is 1 cup of minute made juice, 4 fruit chunks, 2 tbsp of yogurt and ice... $12!?!?! It tasted like watery fruit it wasn't even delicious and to pay $12 for it!? We didn't finish it- it was too gross. Your basically paying $12 for 1 cup of watered down juice that cost them only a few dollars to make. Unfortunate thing about waterton is the food quality is way below standard for such a high price. However glacier bistro disappointed me the most. I hope they can bring more quality to their food to make it worth while for tourists. Save your money go somewhere else- even Lakeside beside them had better food, you got more and it was the same price (however smoothies r the same on both sides and baked goods so don't get them) We paid $52 for 2 smoothies, 2 muffins, cliff bar,1 Gatorade and a mid day square at glacier bistro. At Lakeside we got waffles, and the classic dish with side of turkey sausage and fruit for $56 tasted better not the best but better. So go next door instead. I hope you do better glacier. Your reviews don't...
Read moreWhy I just paid $7.25 for a simple iced coffee…. I’m not sure… Even though the reviews here do not paint a pretty picture, I was really looking forward to coming to the Glacier Bistro because they service Starbucks coffee. The shop was clean and nice, the staff was friendly and quick to greet me. I asked for an iced coffee with cream and simple syrup, the cashier rang it up and turned the debit machine to me. “$7.25” and there was an option to tip. Generally I have no problem leaving a tip especially at little coffee shops on the street but that was just outrageous. With the Starbucks label and being in a touristy town I was expecting a higher price, but not that high. At a real Starbucks my order would have cost me $4.15. On they’re board in the shop it says “iced coffee $4.25” where did that extra $3 come from…? I do understand that I did not bother to ask about the ridiculous price, partly because I didn’t want an awkward interaction and I was also un-caffeinated. I did peek at the receipt though, and saw that it was no joke. Assuming the extra $3 was for cream and simple syrup I see now that I could have saved money and asked for my coffee black, then taken it to the opposite counter where I could add my own cream and sugar for FREE. I’m not writing this so I get my money back, I just want to write the most honest review possible. Other then paying an arm and a leg for a coffee everything...
