I hate to give this place a 1 ⭐ but right now that's all I can do...it's either a 5 or a 1, folks. Of course, I'm always happy to change reviews, upon better experiences.
I LOVE Second Cup and I love the product...I have many favourite locations and experiences but not at this one.
#1) They didn't ask for my app to scan. I was fixing something on it and was caught off guard when they were finished the transaction so quickly. I asked for the points and was told too late. I truly don't like this employees attitude. I've had experiences with them before and it wasn't pleasant. Now I remember why I drive out to the Sunridge location.
#2) We often purchase hot chocolate. This one is sickening sweet...did they make it sweeter? We didn't specify any changes. What a waste of a large hot chocolate.
#3) No receipt was provided, nor offered. I was too flustered with the refusal of my app, I forgot to ask for one.
Sorry, Second Cup...I know times are tough and that's why we support you...but please support your customer and provide them with what we know Second Cup is capable of.
There are other options in the mall...but we chose you. At least appear like you want to choose your customers too!
I think some Customer Service training is required. I don't mind that the cashier has been there for a while. They need to be re-trained. The person who made the drink also might want to review their recipes. The drinks should be made to Second Cup standards, not the taste of the individual who makes it.
Thanks for reading.
I'd return my drink but it's just too inconvenient.
Taking a read through other people's reviews...I see that CUSTOMER SERVICE is lacking at this place, for sure. Please work on that Second Cup, Crossiron...we need better representation of this...
Read moreWent in to buy a sesame bagel toasted with cream cheese. They told me "2 minutes". 10 minutes later, an older woman with braids is STILL working on the bagel. Two other employees came up and checked on her. When she finally gave me the bagel, it was barely toasted, and she put butter instead of cream cheese. When I asked for it to be remade they argued with me and tried to say it was cream cheese. My friend and I both had to demand they remade it. They tried to excuse it saying "she is a new hire" so I said "well your staff should know the difference between butter and cream cheese if they work in food. Train your staff better." They instead decided to refund me instead of remaking it, which left me without food before work. They were not able to refund to my card, as their PinPad said "refund limit exceeded". As someone who works in retail, I know that means that the pinpad will not allow them to issue a refund as the company has set a refund limit. They tried to blame ME for this issue and said it was MY fault the refund was not working. It was not my fault. It was theirs. They then gave me back cash instead of refunding my card. This whole ordeal that should have taken AT MOST 5 minutes (as they started making my food after I paid) took over 20 minutes, left me without being able to eat before work, and ruined my entire morning. Abhorrent customer service, with absent minded and extremely rude employees. Go literally anywhere else....
Read moreI haven’t been to Second Cup coffee shops for some time, but always had good experiences in the past so I thought I’d get a cup of coffee in the CrossIron mall. Several negative changes met me this time. This location is in a mall with sectioned off seating for this coffee shop. Sounds good, sit down a relax, right? Can I get my coffee in a mug since I’ll be staying? NO. Mugs have been done away with. A paper cup is all you get. Kind of cheapens the experience. Puts them down to the level of McDonalds… doesn’t it? Then the cashier asked if I wanted cream, sugar, or honey. I told her I’d just do it myself. But…. NO. Cream, sugar and all the fixings are no longer within the customer’s reach. Putting just the right amount of whatever, in, is a personal thing. Too bad for that too. I just take cream, so I went with that but while she was pouring the cream into my paper cup, I said, do you have any 18% cream? NO, no 18%. ( coffee cream) Instead I get 10%, aka table cream or half and half. Half and half is half MILK, and half cream. Any dedicated coffee shop should have COFFEE CREAM, 18% or at least give customers the choice. I used to see Second Cup as a higher end, quality coffee shop, but it’s cheapened down as outlined so it just feels cheap. No repeat business here for me....
