Caffeine & Co. — Restaurant in Amherstburg

Extremely disappointing. Took my grandmother here a few weeks ago as we looked up the menu online as we thought it would be good for a late weekend breakfast after some shopping and the prices were reasonable. The place was busy and I waited in line for a while, noticing the prices for food were more than double than what I saw on sirved.

Once I got to order, I was told that breakfast was finished at 1, it was 1:10 and we specifically had chosen this place because the menu on sirved said until 3pm. The staff didn’t even offer to make an exception.

I had to give up my spot in line to explain to my grandma so she could pick a lunch option. She ordered a spinach quiche and I ordered a grilled cheese (limited options for vegetarians so I had to go with that). When my grandma went to eat the quiche, she has been given ham instead of spinach. She didn’t bother switching it and I was just relieved I didn’t go with the quiche because I would’ve been horrified had I accidentally eaten pig.

Staff in general is was unfriendly and not helpful. Also, online is integral to any successful business and this place is very weak in that area. Making sure an accurate menu is online should be your first priority in that presence when you’re in the restaurant industry.

The prices are what you would expect when receiving the best quality, service and product. What you receive is far from it! If you are staying in a cafe you should be served in a proper mug or glass not a paper cup. The cappuccino I received looked like the foam was made with a bubble stick out of kids bubbles. There was clearly no skill or training for the person making the drinks. Literally my drink was over 50% foam and they made a latte for my partner and instead of a silky smooth texture it was a spoonful of the sad excuse for foam taken from mine and placed on hers. This is extremely disappointing and there clearly is a disconnect with what they charge and what they think is an acceptable level of service quality. I’m not asking for latte art... although you’d think for the atmosphere and price you’d be the place to provide it. But nope this was a total let down and frankly a waste of coffee that someone took the time to pick, dry, ferment, and roast. They seriously need to reconsider what they charge vs what they provide. If you look at every other review “it’s expensive” no one will ever write that if the product provided is of high enough quality that it feels fair. I tried going this morning for brunch and had a frustrating experience. I have been once or twice before and it was alright. The place is pretty but the prices are higher than all the bakeries in Windsor for product that isn't as good. There was dirty dishes on some empty tables and the line-up to wait for your order was messy and long. Their website is not updated at all to reflect their present menu. They have a menu posted on their website with a variety of brunch options so I figured why not make the trip from Walkerville. When we got there I was told that they are not serving that menu on their website and was pointed to a small 6 item chalkboard menu.
