My partner (Italian-CA) and I (Black-USA) visited over the weekend and were disappointed with the service we received. Despite requesting to be seated at a table away from other patrons due to the tight space, the owner's demeanor was unfriendly. Interestingly, when another white customer with children arrived, her attitude changed drastically, becoming bright and cheery. However, her treatment towards us was curt, swift, and unwelcoming.
In addition to the poor service, I must mention that the owner seemed hesitant to provide us with an extra menu when we requested. Furthermore, when we placed our order, we were instructed to write it down ourselves, and she promptly asked for the menu back. This added to the overall feeling of being rushed and unwelcome during our visit.
When it came time to check out, I chose not to leave a tip, and the owner stared intently at me, making the situation uncomfortable. It's important for businesses to be inclusive, kind, and humane towards all customers regardless of race. Kindness doesn't cost a dime, and it's disappointing when establishments fail to recognize that.

I appreciate your response and find it quite interesting that you remember our visit. Rather than addressing your response point by point, I must respectfully disagree with your account of the events that transpired during our visit. The table where we were seated had a "reserved" sign on it and the table we requested was unoccupied throughout our stay. Additionally, my partner does not recall ordering any specialty items not featured on the menu. See receipt. It seems clear that we experienced the same situation from different perspectives.
Your response seems to invalidate and contradict our perceived experience in your restaurant, which feels like an attempt to gaslight. As someone who researches and teaches in this area, I am fairly confident and well-versed in recognizing such behavior.
While I understand that your establishment has procedures in place, it is crucial to treat all customers with the same level of respect, regardless of whether they are regulars or first-time visitors. In fact, a lover of sushi since he lived in Japan, my partner has been a longtime customer and champion of your restaurant. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he made a conscious decision to support local businesses like yours to help offset the strain that many restaurateurs were feeling at that time. In particular, he frequently ordered takeout from your restaurant during this time, until the present day. As you can imagine, he was speechless and taken aback by the unfriendly demeanor displayed towards us on this visit.
Moving forward, I sincerely hope you will take this constructive feedback as an opportunity to bring awareness to your demeanor and improve your customer service, ensuring that all patrons feel welcomed, irrespective of their familiarity with your establishment.
I wish you the best of luck moving...
Read moreI love food and am easy-going with accepting a variety of styles, but this was IN NO WAY delicious or satisfying!
The only reason I give Royal Sushi House 1 star is because of the nice interior ambience and passable sushi rolls. Other than that, I do NOT recommend this place if you are looking for something authentic or tasty. Despite the relatively small number of diners on that Saturday evening, the wait time was well over 45 minutes. As vegetarians, my wife and I ordered udon noodles with tempura - minus the shrimp. The half-filled bowl came with NO tempura veggies at all! Instead, it had bread crumbs and soggy croutons, to which the owner said it was "Japanese-Italian" fusion to cater to the local taste. In no way did this taste Italian - or even tasty! My wife and I left, dissatisfied, hungry, and feeling ripped off. We went home and ate $1 instant noodles that filled us up AND were more delicious than the $10 udon noodle bowl.
In sum: don't go here if you're looking for any of the following: tasty, satisfying, authentic,...
Read moreBAD CUSTOMER SERVICE : I'm so not happy with this place, when I googled the place on Sunday their website said that it was open until 9pm, we went there and on the window the sign said they are open until 8pm. We walked in at 7:10pm they had no customers there was a man and a woman (I'm assuming the owners) working, they seem disappointing that we walked in, and the man gave us attitude, I asked if they were still open, the woman said yes the man said no (at the same time), I asked again and the man said they were closed. Here is a news flash if you want to be closed by 7, how about you close at 7 and put that on your window sign and website. I would much rather show up and see that you were closed at 7 and your door sign said 7 then you kicking us out. I will never try to go there again I'm so glad they didn't get any of my money, we went to Riccardo's and had the best food...
