Gilligan's Fire Grill Amherstburg — Restaurant in Amherstburg

The service was great. Very friendly staff. My burger was pretty good but the beef was super bland as it is at all Gilligan's locations. A little salt would help. The poutine was awesome. My wife's wings, meh. We've had way better. Bland and no breading on them...naked.

Heres my issue...my 3 year old daughter ordered the mac and cheese off of the kids menu. Now, when you go to a restaurant and order mac and cheese, you would expect something other than Kraft Dinner. Yup, $7 for Kraft dinner. That's pretty ballsy. She barely ate it. Even a 3 year old knows better.

So, a little constructive criticism...

Season your food before it leaves the kitchen. The beef is very very bland. It's not just in Amherstburg, it's like that in Windsor too.

Visited this bar in the off-season. The weather was chilly but still ready for a beer. Found this gem through Google Maps. I was pleasantly impressed to find Corona and generous slice of lime. That's me...happy! My husband had a Walkerville Honest Lager and a pint of Sons of Kent which was their rotating tap. He loved both! The bartender was pleasant...Abbie...and a lot of fun to chat with. We were joined by a few other people who appeared to be locals and had a great discussion between all of us about sports, local places to go an of course, the beer. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a meal but the food looked good. Recommend finding your way over to this clean, friendly and fun place if you are visiting...

My husband and I were visiting Amherstburg today. We decided to stop by Gilligans for a late lunch and, being as we're not from Amherstburg, it would be a first time visit. We went to enter the restaurant and it was locked. We weren't aware that Gilligans was closed on a Sunday. That was ok, but as we were going back to our car, there were people inside the restaurant who made a point of laughing very loud at us for trying to come in. So, for those who chose to welcome first time customers, thank you for making our decision to never come to your welcoming establishment again.
