This is a top-notch restaurant, one of the best we had in Canada so far. The menu is quite large, designed to make everyone happy: you want family cuisine when your other half wants a dish that's a bit out there? oh and the kids still want their favourite meals? you've got it! The menu changes depending on the season, as well as through the chef's inspirations. The service is outstanding, everyone listens to the diners, they are extremely attentive and proactive. Without being too posh for that's not necessary in that environment, we enjoyed the atmosphere with the wood stove, that only added a little magical touch to our wonderful experience. They were helpful with the wines recommendations. The wine menu has everything to satisfy any palate. The food was delicious, with exceptional savors. We had a lamb pizza once (see photograph). One of the best pizza I have ever had (and we tasted exceptional pizzas in Sicily). Not sure it is still on the menu, but it gives an idea of the audacity and how it impacted the whole experience: you are not only thrilled by the food itself but by the whole frame. We visited the restaurant three times, in December and May. I can only recommend December and winter atmosphere for it's pure wonder with the snowy landscapes, the ice rink outside, and the chill out ambiance. It's nice and comforting to see a place that goes beyond mere hospitality. For one does not want to leave with cheering memories only. When it comes to excellence, the guests need profound waves along with recollection: thanks for providing...
Read moreWe placed our order at 6:30 pm using our hotel room phone and were told to come and pick up the order at 7:30pm. when we arrived many guest seem to be coming back to the Restaurant with issues and mistakes. (About 4 other couples) The entire team seemed overwhelmed and disorganized - when it was my turn to pay I did only to be told 10 minutes later that they forgot to charge items on the bill - I payed a second time - we got our bag - then we headed up to our room only to find that 2 dishes were not what we ordered. We called the restaurant back and we’re told that they had sold out of some ingredients and they decided to make a different dish without advising us or telling us at check out. Not cool - we can understand that things sell out no stress and would have been totally fine with selecting something else. Philip the manager was rude and could not care less. I think the team needs to be trained in order management and customer commutation. the potential of this restaurant is there I find that there is a lack of proper management accountability. It sucks cause it was my boyfriend birthday and we were really looking forward to this meal - thanks Philip you made our night...
Read moreWe had a very enjoyable lunch on their outdoor patio overlooking the courtyard. It was a sunny afternoon (around 3pm) and the place was not too busy. Our server (Vincent) was extremely helpful and friendly and guided us through the menu and made recommendations based on how hungry we were. A number of items on their menu included fresh ingredients from their on-site farm. A number of mains come with a decent side of salad so keep that in mind if you want to order a salad as a starter. The "Charlevoix pizza" is a normal pizza but includes ingredients from the Charlevoix region. We had the three cheese pizza which was quite flavourful. We also had the spaghetti bolognese and the fish cake and both were fantastic. Their creme brulee was flavoured with lavender which was also great (I dug right into it before taking a photo!) and it was large enough...
