My boyfriend and I stopped here the other day for 2 medium dipped cones. After we paid, we noticed there was a staff member training a new employee on the soft serve ice cream machine. The staff member took a cone and filled it, while showing the trainee how much soft serve went in the cone, then set the undipped cone to the side. The new employee then grabbed a cone and attempted to fill it with soft serve - it came out very skinny and lopsided - the employees just laughed about it. My boyfriend and I both looked at each other with raised eyebrows - the soft serve in these 2 cones were completely different amounts. The staff member then showed him how to dip the cones - we ordered one chocolate and one orange. The dipped cone that the trained employee made turned out fine, but the trainee's dipped cone was not presentable. We were handed these 2 dipped cones, and after comparing the obvious size difference, we asked the employee at the front what size the chocolate dipped cone was, as we had paid for 2 medium dipped cones. She loudly announced that both the dipped cones were medium sized, which I replied, "well they don't look like it." She offered to 'add more soft serve on top and re-dip it' - 30 seconds later she realized that would be unsanitary as the cone had already been dipped. She then offered to put extra soft serve in a cup - my boyfriend asked if she could just make a new one - which she agreed to.
I do not understand why paying customers should get the product of new employee training. When the total is nearly $10 for 2 cones, we are expecting quality. **Just a tip for DQ - train your staff on your own dime, and hand out the non-servable cones/food as samples to your...
Read moreWe usually love Dairy Queen, In our hometown we visit often as a treat. We were out of town and went to this Barrie location of DQ, but they got our order wrong. We went back inside and asked them to remake our burgers with the toppings we had ordered.
They said they would remake the burgers with the proper toppings we had ordered (we wanted some toppings left off) but when we recieved our 'remade' burgers, we could see the indents where they had just removed the toppings from the same burger instead of remaking it properly. The staff looked like they were in highschool, and usually that's fine because they are learning the job. However, you cannot say you remade a burger to a customer when you've obviously just picked certain toppings off the burger. That's just lazy. There was still a piece of pickle on my girlfriend's burger too, proving they definitely did not remake the food.
Was pretty dissapointed with the service and food. The restaurant and dining room however,...
Read moreThis afternoon, Sunday June 23 approx 3pm my family and I went through the Barrie Yonge St. dairy queen drive-thru and we ordered 4 small dipped cones for $24 and had the worst service and quality ever! Each cone was barely covered with the chocolate coating and the entire cone was falling apart!??? The young server explained that the chocolate is fresh and too hot and that’s the reason it’s not covering the vanilla ice cream? *No sorry, no trying to make the situation better.? All four cones were dripping all over us and my car and over half of the $5+ each ice cream ended up on the floor!??? * On top of that, to make matters worse, the usual ‘fresh crispy’ cones started dripping through the bottom, making more of a mess, and it was stale to add to the let-down;( We were extremely disappointed to say the least, and my car seats needed to be shampooed and cleaned after our horrific...
