On July 27th at approximately 8 pm, myself, and my elderly parents went to Mary Browns 165 Wellington Street West.
We ordered A small taters poutine, two big marys, MD taters and a MD coleslaw. Wings, and popcorn chicken.
Once the order was made, and handed to my father, who promptly returned to the car, to drive us to a private area, so we could eat. After a long country drive we were starving.
We ate, but there were a few issues. One of the Big Marys, had half the size of chicken a traditional big mary does, but the other one, was large. Annoying, but not the end of the world.
The real issue was that both the Tader Poutine, and Medium Taters had cinnamon spice on the wedges. Thiss completely grossed us out, and after we had finished the rest of the meals we returned the Wedges. Or should I say we attempted too.
My elderly father went back into the store and asked for a refund, for only the medium wedge, I had eaten approximately half the poutine, and felt it would be rude to ask for a refund on that Item, but the Medium Taters were hardly touched, and covered with Cinnamon.
The girl at the cash refused to provide a refund stating that the store owner has ordered staff not to return money, only exchange items. She offered to provide my father with a fresh box of Taters, which he politely declined, requesting for a cash refund. She refused again, saying she would get in trouble, and encouraged my father to speak with the box during the week when he is in the store. The employee said it was not Mary Browns policey to refund purchases.
My father left with a freshly made box of wedges, that we did not want, and felt completely disrespected and ripped off.
I have never had a bad experience at Mary Browns until now. I will take my business to the MaryBrowns on Essa Road. I once waited too long in line there, and the owner at that time Madonna, refunded me the entirety of my meal, stating that not only was she buying me dinner, she apologised that it took 10 minutes to warm the gravey. This was also during the pandemic. I tried refusing but it was no good. That was good customer service, this wellington street location atrocious.
I will be calling the head office. What if one of my family members was allergic to cinnamon. Very disappointed in this store. Hopefully head office will correct...
Read moreWent here last monday night for 10:30pm, store was closed and locked up. Staff explained that it was a slow night and decided that it was to lock up. Followed up directly with the email provided from customer service and through the franchise website, no response. Came back yesterday to order five (5) big mary monday sandwich specials, lacked quality and proficiency. Sandwich had poor quality shredded lettuce that lacked freshness and was brown/wilted, pickle was soggy and not crunchy-felt like it was bottom of the bucket pickles, fried chicken piece was SMALL, mostly breading and well done. I was previously employed by previous store owner at this same location, by Stephanie, and this was not up to Mary Browns standard. There should be no excuse to cut corners on making quality food that has high reputation for a canadian franchise. I know this can be improved and corrected. Just really disappointed to return back twice and still be questioning why...
Read morePlaced an order on skip and it arrived super fast. However, once we opened up the boxes, the chicken tenders had minimal batter on them. If you know Mary browns chicken tenders, they are delicious because of their batter and it was incredibly disappointing to see these tenders. As well, the fries were not fully cooked. After spending $80 on this order to see this whole order like this (not just one meal), I am super disappointed. Thankfully, skip handled it well and was super helpful. I would recommend going to the Mary Browns on Essa instead of this location as Essa we have never had an issue and of course this is our first time trying this location and we will not be ordering...
