We stopped by McFinn’s after our home inspection this afternoon, and are sooo excited to be moving to Barrie if it means that we can regularly frequent and support this pub!!! It was clean, beautiful, warm and inviting! It didn’t stop there, the WONDERFUL staff (Ethan and Mick) took more than great care of us. Ethan’s customer service went above and beyond! He was available, attentive, thoughtful and went the extra mile. From things as small as picking us the best seat in the restaurant by the fireplace, refilling our drinks without having to ask, educating us on backstory behind the lucky charms featured in the food (a fun surprise!), and even bringing us a cute dessert to share to celebrate our new home. Did I mention the food? Fast, innovate and that deliciously fresh - with the homemade vibe you’re looking for in traditional meals! Lastly, the mindfulness of the establishment exceeded my expectations - even when it came to the amenities. Down to the washrooms having fun soaps, and sanitary products available for anyone in need! I was told that Mick moved from Ireland to work here, and now I can see why! Can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience. You made our day! We’ll be back! Love, Kate & David

Mc Finn’s is hands down one of the coziest and most welcoming pubs I’ve ever been to. The environment is warm, authentic, and full of charm—exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional Irish pub. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere just makes you want to settle in and stay a while. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make sure you feel at home. You can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, and it shows in the quality of service. Now let’s talk drinks—if you haven’t tried their Irish Espresso Martini, you’re seriously missing out. It’s rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. And the Irish Lemonade? Refreshing, crisp, and just the right amount of kick. Both are absolute must-haves and easily the best I’ve had anywhere. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or planning to spend the evening, Mc Finn’s is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

Great experience. High profile local chef. Food was 10/10 i love the Corned Beef Hot Pockets and the caesar salad was 12/10 . Cocktail menu very unique as well. Dart boards are a plus and A+ staff some straight from Ireland with cute accents. Best guinness ive had on this side of the pond. **************Update: This restaurant suffered a fire. Was closed for about 8 weeks and they took the time to update the food menu. Still the best guinness in the city. The beef sliders with cheese and the mcfinns secret sauce is my new favorite . The dublin street food style spice bag is unparalleled and pictured below. The spicy asian taste and the curry dip is a dream. A tad spicy just how I like it. The aroma alone Also fish and chips now offered regular breading

Food The menu is refreshingly different from the standard pub fare everyone else serves. At first glance it looks a bit long and confusing, but once my “burger” (more like a gourmet sandwich) arrived, I was sold—delicious. Our family ordered pasta, chicken, steak, and the burger, and every single dish was a hit. That never happens with us!

Service The whole point of dining out is to enjoy food you can’t make at home and to be looked after—and that’s exactly what happened. Good service is rare in Canada, but ours was excellent. Our server was attentive, responsive, and made zero mistakes. When the ladies didn’t like their cocktail, she swapped it out for something else—free of charge—without us even asking. Best service I’ve experienced in at least two years.

Price Great value, too. The final bill came to $250 for five adults and a baby, drinks included. No automatic service charge was sneaked in, and we had time to review the bill. We tipped well—our server absolutely deserved it.

Live Music We couldn’t stay for the full show because of the baby and the late hour, but the preview sounded fantastic. We’ll definitely come back for the complete experience.

Highly recommended—we loved everything about this place and can’t...

A Truly Disappointing 1-Star Experience My recent visit to Mc Finn's was, without a doubt, one of the most frustrating and disrespectful dining experiences I've ever encountered. From the moment we were seated, it was clear that customer service was not a priority. Upon being shown to our table, we were left without menus for what felt like an eternity. After a good 10 minutes of waiting and wondering, someone finally approached our table, placed menus in front of us, and promptly walked away without a word. It was an incredibly unwelcoming start. But the issues didn't stop there. When we tried to get a drink menu, another five minutes passed with no one bothering to acknowledge our request. The complete lack of attention and basic courtesy was frankly astounding. I've never felt so utterly ignored and disrespected in a restaurant setting. The entire experience was a masterclass in how not to treat customers. I would strongly advise anyone considering dining here to look elsewhere if they value even a modicum of service...
