McDonald's — Restaurant in Barrie

Went into the store at approximately 10:30pm on December 1st, 2023.

Ordered two double hamburgers, a cheeseburger, and the new herb and garlic seasoned fries.

Realized after we had driven away that the two double hamburgers were actually singles, so we turned around and drove back to get it fixed.

When I went in and showed them the mistake, the staff at the front did not apologize at all, but they did fix the mistake. While I was waiting for this to be fixed, I noticed one girl who was working at the drive thru pull out her phone, and openly text on it for about a minute before putting it away and continue to bag and touch food, without washing her hands.

After I was given the corrected food and left, I got back in my car to notice that the cheeseburger also had no cheese on it. I went back in for a second time to have it fixed, and the employee at the front simply said "Wow" as I showed it to him. I simply asked for them to put a slice on cheese on it. Finally, when I was given my corrected cheeseburger, I received the first 'sorry' of the entire interaction.

Staff seems like they have little care or any sort of attention to detail. They need to be trained better in customer service skills, as well as it appears that some need to learn how to read a screen properly. I have no clue where a manager is, but they need to learn how to run a floor effectively so this many mistakes...

This is typically the McDonald's I come to when I make a trip exclusively for a snack. The parking is great, the location is easy to get into. Inside, there's immediately two electronic-ordering-machines, that I use every time, as I'm extremely fond of not having to interact with people. Although, also over half the time I'm here, not a single one of them are able to print (important for receipts and order #'s). Also, I've noticed some slightly unreasonable wait times on my orders, as in my friend gets his order, and I get mine 10+ minutes later (ordered at same time, has happened on multiple occasions). This McDonalds also has a good sized play place, and is typically about 50% full. Overall, I'd suggest making sure that the electronic ordering machines have sufficient paper to print, and I'd try to lower times on some of the larger orders. This place is typically fairly clean, although there's also some room for improvement there. Typically, when I come here the garbage cans are full or overflowing as they're not emptied enough, and also some areas (by the ketchup, some tables) aren't always clean. Would never write a review like this however I’m irritated by a women by the name of Patricia who is a manager I believe, was extremely rude and unfriendly to my wife and I in the drive through. We had a coupon for 2 can dine not realizing it was two days early. Instead of approaching me nicely to say “Sir the coupons are early however please feel free to come back again to use them” nope she took them looking and investigating them as if I just handed her anthrax and says “no these are early” with a snarl and shoved them right back to me. I’m sorry but this was embarrassing and made me feel awkward and her rude manner was completely unprofessional and showed her lack of customer service skills. And now to top it all off I got home with my family ready to eat my french fries were undercooked my hamburgers were overcooked and my Coke had no taste they were so concerned about which coupons I was using that they completely neglected the quality of our dinner this makes me question whether I should ever returned to McDonald’s Or at least...
