Where do I start, I placed my order for two falafels and medium fries with garlic sauce and hot sauce on it. There were two employees and no customers.
There was an employee cutting shawarma with a knife, the knife dropped and the employee picked it up, looked back at me and then placed it back on the counter.
The second employee starts to wrap my falafels up, places it in a brown bag and it falls on the ground. I tell the employee I am not taking that falafel as it fell on the ground and the top of the wrap was not covered with the rolling paper. He tells me that he will make me another one.
I now look back to the first employee who dropped the knife and he's cutting the shawarma again with the same knife that fell on the ground. I tell the employee he can not do that, it's unsanitary and asked him if he would eat it? The employee does not say a single word to me and places the knife back on the counter and walks to the back.
I go back to the employee who now is making my falafel again. I have now been at Osmows for 20 minutes. I tell that employee that they can't use knives that have fallen on the floor when there are ant traps on the floors. I asked the employee if he would eat what the other employee cut with a dirty knife? He said no but the other employee has only been working for a week. I replied, it doesn't matter, it's common sense. The employee puts my fries in my medium container and starts to pack all my food into a take out bag. I tell the employee that they didn't put my garlic sauce and hot sauce on my fries (which I paid extra for). He takes it out and half the container is empty. I ask the employee if they always put only half the fries in the container. He didn't really answer that either.
To top it off, they were more concerned about getting their skip the dishes order out the door rather than the customer that has been standing there for 30 minutes.
So thirty minutes later, with two horribly made falafels and soggy cold fries I left the store. The City of Barrie will be notified of...
Read moreTLDR: If you come here, double check what they are typing into the till and charging you at point of sale!!! First time at this location on Sept 5th, 2022, and was left disappointed by an issue that could have been rectified easily if they simply listened and admitted their mistake.
I ordered one daily special for $12.49 + HST, no add-ons. They typed a couple of items into their point-of-sale system that were different than what I ordered. This wouldn’t have mattered, except the resulting price of what they typed in ended up being a little more.
So far, not a big deal. I tried explaining to the employee that what she typed in wasn’t what I ordered, and that the total doesn’t reflect my price. She responded with, “It doesn’t matter, I am charging you $12.49 + HST.”
However, that simply wasn’t true. I even used the calculator on my phone to make sure I wasn’t the one in the wrong. Again, I tried explaining to her that it isn’t the correct total for my order, but she walked away and wouldn’t listen.
At this point, I was frustrated but paid what they wanted to charge anyways. If they had even said something like their prices had gone up a bit from those in their signage, that would have been totally fine, because the price is not what matters.
It was the refusal to admit that what she decided to type into their till didn’t add up to what my order should have been that makes me feel like they were being dishonest. It was very obvious that she was in the wrong — the math was clear — and it makes me think that they secretly up-charge by a small amount on purpose that most people wouldn’t notice.
The food itself was good! But they are receiving this low review due to possible dishonesty with secretly up-charging...
Read moreToday, Sept 5, 2025, I ordered a Falafel Wrap with medium spice, garlic, and Philly sauce at this Osmow’s location, and I was extremely disappointed. The staff member preparing my wrap, Jobin, chose to put only one single line of hot sauce, even though medium spice has always meant two full lines at every other Osmow’s I’ve visited. When I politely raised the concern, instead of acknowledging the mistake or offering to remake the wrap, he simply handed me a side of hot sauce. To make matters worse, Jobin became argumentative and rude, insisting that one line equals medium which is simply not true. This not only ruined my meal but also raised a bigger concern: I’ve noticed in other reviews that this location has a history of portioning inconsistencies and poor food handling ethics It feels like they’re deliberately cutting corners and misrepresenting Osmow’s standards. If the hot sauce here is truly spicier, then customers should be informed upfront not misled or Manipulate by changing definitions of “medium.” As someone who enjoys Osmow’s at other locations, this experience was very disappointing. I strongly urge the owner and corporate team to review this location’s practices and staff behavior especially Jobin’s before it damages the trust and reputation of the...
