In short horrible food, burnt wings, awful service, servers clearly not hired for their skills......
On Saturday evening myself and 12 friends came here for a quick meal and some drinks before the colts game. The reasturant was not overly busy especially for a Saturday and appeared to be staffed enough to handle the clientele. We ordered our food (mostly wings and burgers) and waited 25 minutes until it came out (ordered approximately 18:00hr and received at approximately 18:26hr. Still no complaints as we kept ourselves happy chatting and having a few drinks and I understand we were a large group. Unfortunately everything was downhill from here.
The people who got wings (at least 3 of us) received charred wings which looked and tasted like they had been cooked then refried they were almost black. One of the girls who had asked for Cajun seasoning did not receive any seasoning at all.
My own meal I had asked to sub sweet potato fries in and received regular fries. When we asked the server for the correct fries she said ok- 20 or so mins later after I had eaten the majority of my charred wings (I was hungry and we were in a rush so I didn't send them back) another server brought out a basket of sweet potato fries. At this point I had assumed they had simply forgotten since no servers had mentioned they were on their way. so when I told the server that I didn't want them and I also didn't want them packed up as we were leaving in a few minutes and I had wanted them with my meal she gave me major attitude and left (even others at the table commented on her rudeness)
To top off the horrible food we received the server who took our orders brought us our bills and became extremely confused when the guys of the group offered to pay for their various significant others. It took at least 15 minutes and multiple trips to and from our table for the server to somewhat straighten out the bills. Members of our table had to thoroughly explain each bill to her and who had what meal/drinks.
At no point did the server ensure our meals were ok or apologize for any of the mix ups. Rather she seemed annoyed to be handling such a...
Read moreWe came into this location between hockey games with our son's team. As any hockey parent knows, we’ve done this hundreds of times over the years—grab food between games, get in and out in under two hours. It's a simple routine, and we’re easy-going.
The restaurant was not busy, yet from the moment we walked in, the waitress was completely unaccommodating. We suggested a very reasonable setup: kids sit together, and parents nearby at the high-tops. There wasn’t enough room for all of us in one section.
Instead, the waitress gave us a lecture about not calling ahead (again—the place was practically empty!) and seemed put out by having to serve us at all. She was rude and dismissive, and by the time I arrived, the rest of the group was already frustrated by her attitude.
At that point, I simply said: Let’s go somewhere that actually wants our business. We went down the road to Jack Astor’s. Despite being much busier, they seated all 30 of us in three minutes. The staff was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Every family ordered, ate, and paid in under 90 minutes. Each family easily spent around $150.
Bottom line: if you're looking for a team-friendly restaurant or just a place that treats customers with basic respect—don’t waste your time at this St. Louis location. There are far better options nearby. If I was the owner of St. Louis I would be very upset losing over $2000 in 2 hours...
Read moreWe had the worst Father's Day dinner ever at the Veterans location. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. We walked into the empty restaurant, only one other family in there it took almost 40 minutes to get our food - of which they brought our appetizers AFTER our main food had arrived. So they comp'd the apps, but all of it was over cooked anyway. The main food - I had philly cheese steak that had no meat, and was 80% filled with charred (burned) onions - I couldn't eat it, sent it back but they still charged me for it. Husband had the fish and chips which was double fried while frozen - it was like chewing fried rubber - and we had to ask for tartar sauce. By the time we had left it was $55 that I would've got more satisfaction from just taking a lighter to it. What a way to ruin a Father's Day dinner, thanks St Louis Wings. I won't ever be back. I posted this experience on their facebook page - they replied and told me to send my contact info to the area manager, which I did. Over a month later and still no reply from them. So that just goes to show you how much they value their customers!!! Don't waste your time or your money...
