Liberty North — Attraction in Barrie

After contemplating having our small family wedding at a local restaurant, we decided to just check out Liberty North to see if they had any options for us that would fit our budget.

We met with Lori, who took us through the facility and explained what set up would work best for our intimate Wedding and even offered multiple items and ideas to help us keep cost down.

Lori was helpful and responsive as we set up all the details of the big day and always answered my questions and helped keep us organized. The chef was able to prepare a gourmet dinner that fit within our budget and they even made a special meal for the groom.

We were able to get in the day before to set up our sound system, do a rehearsal with family for the ceremony and drop off items that Lori graciously offered to have her team set up for us the morning of the wedding.

There was not a moment that I felt worried or stressed the night before or morning of, as I was confident that Liberty North was taking care of everything until we arrived.

Sadly, the Groom woke up the morning of the wedding with the flu. When he arrived at the venue, the staff and Lori took extra care of him, getting him everything he needed to rest and relax before the ceremony. They had a room for me and the wedding party to relax in before the ceremony started and helped keep us all calm with some cocktails before hand.

The ceremony room, which worked perfectly for our wedding of only 26 people, looked incredible and was perfect in every way. They effortlessly turned a banquet room into a romantic atmosphere for our vows.

During photos, the staff continues to pay special attention to the sick groom and made us feel so incredibly special. The amazing selection of food set out for our guest and champagne passed around kept everyone happy as well.

At the reception and dinner our guests complimented the venue for the 5 star meal and service they continues to provide. The vegetarian options for a few of our guests were just as spectacular as our meals. The groom, who was hardly able to eat, was constantly checked in on and tea and anything else he requested was swiftly brought to help him through the evening.

The team at Liberty North truly made us feel like royalty. Even with a small wedding like ours, you would think that we were having a reception of 500 people with the way they attended to everyone and made them feel special. We continues to hear compliments from our guests for days after about the beautiful decor, incredible food and fantastic service.

We would recommend Liberty North to anyone looking for a venue to host any type of event, but especially a wedding. Small or large, this venue and it’s team will ensure your event runs smoothly and is a memorable memory for all in attendance.

We booked our small wedding reception at Liberty North after our original wedding plans fell through due to Covid. Lori was so accommodating and easy to work with as we planned the wedding details with Covid restrictions in mind about a month out from the big day.

Larissa was on deck to help myself and family set up the dining area the day before the wedding, and even helped by organizing all the centrepieces and decor for us to retrieve the following Monday.

We cannot say enough good things about the service at the cocktail hour and during dinner. The appetizers were delicious, service to the entire party was prompt, no one sat with an empty glass and the chicken and prime rib mains were highly complimented by our guests.

Liberty North catered our off-site wedding a couple of weeks ago. It was in the works for a couple of years but was postponed due to COVID. My husband and I were so impressed by Lori’s attention to detail and were thankful to have her walk us through the process including liaising with the rentals company. Lori and chef Mark visited the wedding site twice to ensure that everything was in order prior to the event. We had a plated 3-course meal with cocktail hour and the servers were so attentive to our guests’ needs. We had multiple guests comment on the quality of the food, as it is much better than the typical banquet food you expect at a wedding.
