This was our 2nd attempt visiting. First attempt was on a hot day and kitchen was closed to protect staff. Rightfully so. Second attempt was a Friday evening. Waited over an hour in a lineup of two takeout orders and a table of 5 and table for 2 prior to us. Only two waitress working the entire place. There was no help to clean tables, host or take orders. The phone was ringing off the hook, to the point, one of the waitresses unplugged it from the phone jack in the wall. The gentleman in front of us, who were both takeout orders, had mentioned they called over and over again to place an order. They mentioned how upset they were to have to wait in line just to place a takeout order. The latter of the two received his order as we were leaving AFTER having our meal! He did NOT look impressed. There seemed to be animosity between the two waitresses and noted they each had their own tip jar - and not shared. After we were seated, the girl behind us placed her takeout order. After that, they turned away the rest of the people in line! The brunette was working it, while the blonde was pretty much A-wall. Once we were finally seated, we placed our order immediately. The food still took about another 30mins to come. The garlic spare ribs were good. Tasted great, all meat, not fatty. The chicken balls were filled with chicken. The food tasted just fair. After all the hype we saw online, I do not feel our experience justified it. We ordered a takeout 30 minutes prior to their closing time. We had ordered for a combo option. When we opened the takeout bag after reaching our campsite, we found that the beef broccoli was missing. The portion size of the chowmein and the chicken fried rice was too small compared to other Chinese restaurants. The chicken was hard to find in the chicken fried rice. Only the egg rolls were the best out of the lot. We were very disappointed as we were extremely hungry and the dinner combo was not enough. When we called up the restaurant we were told that we will have to drive back all over to the restaurant to obtain a refund or to receive the missing item. We were not given the option of refund through email money transfer. After a full day of traveling we did not have the energy to drive back to the restaurant. They asked us to come back the next morning but we had to leave from the campsite in the morning as per our itinerary. Cavendish was a great experience apart from this dinner!!!

The worst customer service disrespecting and insulting senior citizens

I visited this place today with three seniors including a super senior. We ordered food and asked for either hot water or bottled water, and the lady said they have only tap water. With health conditions, my parents cannot drink tap water and explained them the same. I went and got bottled water from my truck for them to drink. At that point the food was just served. Seeing me getting water for elderly, the lady disallowed the water and she stopped my parents from drinking water from our water bottle. At this point we have to walk out of the restaurant as it's impossible for the elderly to have food without water. I again tried to explain the lady about the health issues and she just refused them again. This was disrespectful, especially to the senior citizens, an act of poor hospitality.
