Captain Scott's Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Bayview

Location/environment both indoors and outdoors is fantastic. Later in summer will probably be really harsh, though because there is only a little shade.

I had the lobster roll and fries. The fries were swimming in grease. I'm no expert on lobster rolls... I've only had them twice before and found them to not be exciting either, but for what it's worth I didn't find my lobster roll particularly flavourful.

My dining partner had the scallops with fries and it was the same story with the scallops too. She asked me to go collect a wad of tissues from inside to dab out the grease and frankly watching how much she was able to extract really was an appetite killer.

Aside from the food being a bit of a disappointment for the steep price, I watched one of the staff clean the trays and was perturbed to see she used a dry cloth, no cleaning agent and did a very small wipe on the back of each tray, which in my opinion only served to collect the grime from the table side and dispatch it on to the food side of the next tray. Not acceptable IMO.

Oh, and be careful if the sun is out. The benches are dark green and you might feel like you say on a frying pan.this has little to do with the restaurant but still....I know it gets hot and that...

One staff member was incredibly kind and helpful and pleasant. Another was rude when I walked in stating they weren’t open yet (but the door was unlocked) and was irritated when I asked what time they open. After coming back a half hour later I was pushing a stroller and both on the way in and out the same staff member was going out ahead of me and left the door to slam closed in front of me, I had a stroller with me so I then had to maneuver around it and let myself out. We were literally 2 steps behind him, so not necessarily poor service as the food was delicious and we were provided condiments, napkins and cutlery, just the staff were unpleasant except the lady...

Online says they open at 10 but they don't open until 11 which isn't well advertised. Came back at 11 and the person who put the sign out front asif not to come in until the sign was on. We didn't mind waiting about 10 minutes after waiting an hour. Ordered and heard the cooks loudly laughing about the fact myself and my friend ordered two different kinds of clams (strips and whole) which was kind of unprofessional since the kitchen is open to the restaurant space.
